Will of Nicholas Day

of Lydd, Kent

Item I bequeath unto my sonne Thomas Day, when he Cometh to the age of Twenty yeares, my dwellinge house, with the appurten[au]nces thereunto belonginge, and all those implements that doth belonge unto my shopp, to be enjoyed by them at the age aforesaid.

Item I give unto my daughter Joane Daye Tenn powndes, to be paid by myne executor when she co[m]meth to the age of Eighteene yeares.

Item I give to my Brother Thomas Day twelve pence, to be paid by myne executor.

My will and mynd is that Joane Day my wife shall enioy my house, with all th�apppurten[au]nces and implementes of the shopp, untill my sonne Co[m]meth to the age aforesaid.

And all the residue of my goodes and Cattells I give and bequeath unto my wife Joane Day, payinge my debtes and legacies, whome I make my sole executor of this my last will and Testament.
My will and desire is that if my wife die before my Children doe come to age, that them my kinseman Mr Edward Nichols, minister of Northborne, that he shall take upon him the execution of this my last will and Testament in that true manner w[hi]ch formerly I have graunted unto my executor Joane my wife.

[This will, of Nicholas Day, late of the town of Lydd, the diocese of Canterbury, deceased, Was proved on the 17th day of March in the year of our Lord, according to etc, 1624, Before Master Thomas Greenefield, clerk, curate of Lydd, surrogate etc, in the presence of Hugh Harryson and Mark Skinner, witnesses etc,
By the oath of Joan Day, widow etc of the said deceased, the executrix etc. And approved thereof etc, And administration etc was committed to the said executrix, she having been first sworn etc, Saving the right of any person whomsoever.
