Memorandum that on or about the Second day of Ffebuary in the year of our
Lord God 1707 Michael Deane the younger of Kingsdowne in the County of Kent
Yeoman being Sick of the Sicknefs whereof he dyed about two daies after in his
dwelling house in Kingsdowne aforesaid being in sound and perfect mind memory
and of good understanding and having a desire to make his last Will and
Testament did desire the persons then present to take notice and beare witnefs that
what he was going about to declare should stand for and be his Last Will and Testament
which was to the Effect following
First he gave to the poor of Kingsdowne where he
dwelt the summe of Ten pounds. To the poor of Ash cum Ridley the summe of
Ffive pounds.
To his Father Michael Deane the Elder the summe of Ffive pounds.
To his wife Ellenor Ffifty pounds and the rents and Profitts of his House and Lands
near Wested situate and being in the Parishes of Eynsford and ffarmingham which he
bought of Thomas Kingsland for his life and afterwards to his two Sons James
Deane and Michael Deane, he gave more to his said Wife all his lands in Kingsdowne
aforesaid for her life after the decease of his ffather and Mother who are to
have the said lands in Kingsdowne for their lives he gave more to his said Wife
All the Goods in the best Chamber and in the Hall and one Bedmonger besides.
He gave to his two Sons James Deane and Michael Deane Three hundred pounds a peice, he gave to his Daughters Elizabeth, Mary, and Jane, Three hundred and ffifty pounds to be equally divided between, he gave to his three Servants Ten shillings a peice
the residue of his personal Estate he gave to his three Daughters equally to
be divided amongst them And if any of them dye her or their portion of share to
go to the survivour He further declared his mind to be that after the decease of
either of his sons his share and portion should be equally divided among all the
Children of Michael Deane deceased he further desired all his debtes and legacies should
be paid And did make and constitute his Brother William Deane and his cousin
Richard Dunston Executors of this his Will In Trust for his children and at all and
singular the promisses he the said Testator was of Sound and perfect memory and of good
understanding and desired the persons then present to take notice and beare
witnefs that what he had so declared was his mind and should stand and be his
Last Will and Testament in the presence and hearing of
John Gladdish, John Richardson and Elenor Deane.
