Will of Bennet Delyster

of Appledore, Kent

DATE: 20th of October 1569, Proved: 17th November 1569.

To be buried in the church yard of Appledore beside my father.
Item: to Eleanor Holmes my mother in law �5 immediately after my decease.
Item: to William Delyster my brother �5 and 8 sheep and lambs which are in the keeping of William Holmes.

Item: to Ellen Watts my sister the wife of Edward Watts of Harrietsham 10 shillings and my second red petticoat and my best russet petticoat, also two rayles, 2 neckerchiefs, 2 napkins of the second sort, one featherbed and one bolster to be delivered to my sister after my decease.

Item: to my said sisters children, either of them 10 shillings to be delivered to their father.
Item: to my mother in law my worsted kirtle.
Item: to my sister my cassock and my broad silk hat and my little kirtle.
Item: to my sister daughters to either of them a pewter dish and to her son a lamb.

Item: I bequeath to the poor of Appledore at my burial bread, drink and 20 shillings to be given by William Holmes and Edward Broughton where they shall think there is most need.
Item: to John Robyns, 2 hand kerchiefs.

The rest of my goods to my sister Ellen Watts.
My brother William Delyster to be my sole executor and Thomas Knight of Lydd to be my overseer.
Witnesses: Edward Broughton, Alyce Dyerfield, widow.
