Item I bequeath to the high altar in the said church 6d.
Item I bequeath 10 sheep called ewes to make my ? of ? to be ordained against my ? mind and
afterward to be maintained continually by the flock of the said 10 ewes one taper to brenne(?)
before the image of the rood in rode loft another taper
to brenne before Our Lady in our Lady Chapel the third taper to brenne before Saint Erasmus in the
said church the fourth taper to brenne before the Image of Saint Caterying(?) the which said ten ewes
shall be delivered to ? John Hawkins vicar of the said church the said ? Hawkins to see the said rights
maintained and the ewes also and to leave the said ewes to such as shall seem best to perform my said
will.
Item I will that John my son the elder shall have three yards of land lying in ?field payment therefore 26s 8d whereof I will 6s 8d part thereof be paid for a cross cloth to be occupied with the cross in the said church and 20s the residue of the said 26s 8d to be occupied in the said church in Linstead about the ? of poor people.
Item I will that John my son the elder shall have a cow to the extent he ordain a torch the value of 8s to be occupied and used at the burying of poor people in time of need.
Item I will that Elizabeth my daughter shall have all the inward stuff at Lynlyn(?) as
my fathers(?) will make mention.
And of my son John the younger will be the said inward stuff and Lynlyn as is aforesaid
I will he have it before any other and better ? by 3s 4d.
The residue of my goods my debts paid and my
will performed I give to my said two sons to be equally divided between them. And of this my present
testament I ordain and make my said son John the elder my Executor ? the said second day of May in
the year of our Lord God 1501 as is above said of the reign of King Henry the 7th the 16th year. This
witnesseth.
