Item I give to
the poor of the Parish of Limpne alias Lympne 40 shillings to be distributed unto them within one
month after my decease at the discretion of my Executor with the advise of two of the most substantial
inhabitants of the same parish.
Item I give to Edmund Redsole and Edmund Tailor my godsons to each
of them 13s 4p to be paid to their fathers to their uses.
Item I give unto Mildred Knight the daughter of Richard Knight of Aldington 20s.
Item I give unto John Hales my kinsman 20s.
Item I give unto Henry Knight my godson the son of Ralph Knight of Aldington 20s.
Item I give unto Marie the wife of Daniel
Philpott of Kennington and unto Elizabeth the wife of Thomas Baldock of Hythe my kinswomen to
each of them four pounds to be paid within one year after my decease.
Item I give and bequeath unto
every one of the children of John Denne of Bonnington my kinsman 40s to be paid unto their father (to
their use and benefit to be employed) by 40s yearly upon the nine and twentieth day of October until
the sum be paid.
Item I give and bequeath unto my loving nephew William Collins Gent in
consideration of all the costs and charges that he hath been at about my house at Lympne and for all
other his kindness towards me the sum of twenty pounds to be paid within six months after my decease.
Item I bequeath unto William Collins my godson son of the said William the sum of forty shillings.
Item I give unto the said John Denne of Bonnington one suit of apparel with all things belonging
thereunto.
Item I make and ordain my loving cousin Thomas Denne of the Inner Temple London
Esquire the sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament.
And I do appoint my loving nephews
William Cobbe of Aldington ? and the said William Collins to be my overseers of this my last Will and
Testament and I give to the said William Collins for his pains in that behalf the sum of forty shillings.

This is the last Will and Testament of me the same Edmund Denne made and declared the day and year
first above written. As concerning the disposition of all my lands tenements and hereditaments.
First I will and bequeath unto John Denne of the Parish of Bonnington my kinsman during his life one month
or yearly rent charge of lawful English money to be issuing and going out of all my lands and
tenements whatsoever to be paid quarterly at the four most usual feasts of the year by equal portions
and for non payment hereof that it shall be lawful to and for the said John Denne to enter into any part
of all my lands and tenements and hereditaments to distrain and the distresses to take away and detain
until he be satisfied of the said rent behind with the arrears thereof.
Item I give and bequeath unto
Thomas Denne of the Inner Temple, London, Esquire my cousin eldest son of Robert Denne of Denne
also Denehills, Gent deceased (out of which house I am descended and from whom my lands were
anciently derived) all my messuage with the appertuances called Combe(?) with all the lands meadows
pasture and ? thereunto belonging lying in the said Parish of Lympne also Lymne in the said County of
Kent and all other my lands tenements and hereditaments whatsoever to have and to hold unto the said
Thomas Denne his heirs and assigns for ever.
And I do hereby revoke all former wills and testaments
by me made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal. Edmund Denne.
Sealed and subscribed published and declared the day and year above written in the presence of
William Walsall, John Branch(?), Nicholas Osborne.
