Item I give and bequeath unto the poor
people of the Parish of Bishopsbourne aforesaid the sum of twenty shillings of lawful English money to
be distributed amongst them by my Executrix hereafter named within one month next after my decease.
Item I do give and bequeath to the poor people of the Parish of Kingston in the County aforesaid the
like sum of twenty shillings to be distributed likewise amongst them by my said Executrix within two
months next after my decease.
Item I do will give and bequeath unto Ann Denne my eldest daughter
the sum of one hundred pounds of lawful money of England to be paid her by my Executrix at her age
of twenty years or day of marriage which of them shall first happen.
Item I do give and bequeath unto Margaret Denne my youngest daughter the like sum of one
hundred pounds of like money to be paid her by my said Executrix at her age of twenty years or
day of marriage which shall first and next happen as aforesaid
and if either of my said daughters shall fortune to die before they shall accomplish
their several ages of twenty years or day of marriage then my will and meaning is that the portion of
her so dying shall be and remain to the survivor.
Item I do give and bequeath unto David Denne my eldest son all my lands tenements and hereditaments whatsoever situate lying and being within the Parish of Bishopsbourne aforesaid to be had and holden to the said David Denne and to his heirs for ever.
Item I do will give and bequeath unto Peter Denne my youngest son all those my lands whatsoever within the several Parishes of Elham and Stelling in the aforesaid County of Kent and which are now in the occupation of Nicholas Rigden of Stelling aforesaid yeoman to be had and holden by the said Peter Denne and his heirs forever.
Item my will and meaning is that Joane my well beloved wife shall take and receive the profits and yearly revenues of all my said lands tenements hereditaments in Bishopsbourne aforesaid formerly bequeathed to my said son David Denne and to his heirs towards his education and bringing up until he shall attain to his age of three and twenty years and likewise my will and meaning is that my said wife shall also receive and take the profits of all my said lands in Elham and Stelling aforesaid formerly bequeathed to my said son Peter till he shall attain to his like age of three and twenty years towards his maintenance and bringing up
and if it shall fortune either of my said sons do die before they shall attain to their several ages of three and twenty years then my will and meaning is that the one shall be the others heir and if they both shall fortune to die before they shall accomplish their said several ages of three and twenty years then my will and meaning is that all my said lands tenements and hereditaments in the said Parish of Bishopsbourne formerly bequeathed to my said son David shall be and remain to my said daughter Anne and to her heirs for ever. And likewise my will and meaning is if both of my sons shall happen to die before they shall attain to their several ages of three and twenty years then my will and meaning is that all my said lands in Elham and Stelling aforesaid formerly bequeathed to my said son Peter shall be and remain to my said daughter Margaret and to her heirs forever.
And if it shall fortune that all my said children do die without an heir of their bodies lawfully begotten then my will and meaning is that all my said lands in the several parishes of Bishopsbourne Elham and Stelling aforesaid after the decease of Jane my now wife shall come and remain unto Vincent Denne and Walter Denne sons of John Denne late of the City of Canterbury Esquire deceased so and to their heirs male for ever and for default of such heirs male then to the right heir male of him the said William Denne for ever.
Item I do give and bequeath unto the said Jane my now wife all my lands tenements and hereditaments whatsoever with their appertuances commonly called Dane and formerly by this testament and last will bequeathed situate lying and being in the several parishes of Elham aforesaid Great Hardres and Barham in the County aforesaid to be had and holden to the said Jane and her heirs for ever notwithstanding my will and meaning is that if at the time of my decease there shall not be good cattle and chattels sufficient for a payment of my debts and legacies then I will that my said lands called Dane shall be sold towards the payment of my said debts and legacies and the remainder thereof to be and remain to my said wife
and the residue of my goods
chattels and cattles whatsoever unbequeathed my funeral debts and legacies being first paid and
discharged I do give and bequeath unto Jane my now wife whom I make and ordain sole and Executrix
of this my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I the said William Denne have to either leaf of
this my testament and last will published my name and have caused ? to be fixed a label
comprehending both the said leaves and have hereunto set my seal the day and year first above written.

William Pulham(?) and Richard White both of Bishopsbourne and of me John Sharman
