Item I do give unto Mary my wife my house
with the appertuance in Broad Street in the Parish of St Mary, Northgate during her natural life during
which term she shall keep the house well and sufficiently repaired.
Item I do give unto Mary my wife
half my usual household stuff whatsoever except the five(fine) ? which I do give unto my brother
William ? and likewise I give unto Mary my wife ten pounds to be paid her within two months next
after my decease.
Item I give ? to my brother(?) Steven(?) Stace and to my sister Mildred Stace if they
be alive at my death to each of them twenty shillings.
Item I do give unto Mary Rolfe my first wife�s daughter if she be alive at my decease
ten pounds to be paid her within one quarter of a year next after my decease.
Item I do give unto my brother Robert Denne thirty shillings to be paid unto him half
yearly within ? ? next after my decease and to continue during his natural life.
Item I do give unto my brother William Denne whom I do make my whole Executor of this my last
Will and Testament my annuity I gave going out of his land at ?
further my mind and will is that if Mary my wife shall contend with my Executor and will not ? with these my goods dealing(?) and meaning (for her portion is more than is here expressed) but will vex my Executor with suit at law for more than ? given her as I little doubt of the same then I utterly do take from her whatsoever I have given her by this my last Will and Testament ? it shall be ? and remain in the hand of my Executor.
And I do likewise entreat my wife at the time of my death to deliver to my Executor into his hands all those lands(?) and writings that belong unto him and likewise the ? of the wife of Andrew ? which was put into my hands of trust. And my Executor is to deliver at my death unto Mary my wife the writings of Denne(?) I made by the year during all the term of her natural life which writings remain in his hands at this time.
Item after my wife�s decease I do give to my brother William Denne and to his heirs
for ever the third part of my house and lands in Broad Street in St Mary Northgates� parish.
Item I give unto John Rolfe my sisters son the sum of five pounds to be paid within two years next after my
decease.
Item I do give unto Elizabeth Rolfe my sisters daughter ten pounds to be paid within two years
after my decease.
Item whatever state or title or interest I have in a piece of land in Sutton near Chart I
do freely give unto my brother Alexander Rolfe in as ample manner as law can advise.
Item I do give to Elizabeth Woodlands my now servant five pounds to be paid unto her at her age of one and twenty
years.
Item I do ? Mary my wife to bear all the rest of my funeral expenses whatsoever and my brother
William Denne as aforesaid my sole and joint Executor and when he hath paid my debts and legacies I
do give unto him all my goods and moveables whatsoever which is ungiven and not bequeathed. In
witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written. John Denne.
Sealed and delivered to the use of my Executor in the presence of us and the word stuff(?) set over the
thirteenth line before ensealing hereof.
