The last Will and Testament nuncupative of Mary Den, widow late of the Parish of St Margarets within the City of Canterbury deceased by her made and declared the Tuesday next before her death she dying the Sunday after she being then sick and weak in body but of good and perfect memory with an intent and purpose to make her will and to dispose of her estate in these words following or the like in effect that is to say

she gave her gown and best petticoat to her daughter Johnson,
to Simon Gilbert her grandchild five pounds
to John Gilbert another of her grandchildren the like sum of five pounds.
Item she gave to Elizabeth wife of Thomas Gilbert of Canterbury, Baker her wearing ring.
Item she gave to Thomas Gilbert another of her grandchildren twenty shillings
and to Mary Hales she gave the like sum of twenty shillings.

The residue of her goods and chattels she gave to her son Thomas Gilbert and to the rest of her children that is to say two parts to the said Thomas and one part to the rest of her children but she willed that her daughters Johnson�s part of the remainder should go to Elizabeth Kemp her daughter.

In the presence of the mark of Catherine Gyles, the mark of Mary Hales.
