I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Sarah Denne for and during the term of her natural life all that my four parts the whole being divided into seven parts of all that mesuage or tenement together with the yard and all buildings there unto belonging that did and formerly belong to her late father Andrew Gpolnos? [Holnes?] deceased in the parish of St. Margaret in the city aforesaid in my own occupation and Robert Grayman and Robert Gpolnos ? and ... Betting ? widow, or their assigns and further I give unto my said wife all that my four parts of one third part of all that mesuage or tenement the one third being divided into seven parts all of that mesuage or tenement ..... belonging in the parish of St. George the Martyr in the city aforesaid in the occupation of Elizabeth Mirthhurst ? or her assigns and also I further give unto my said wife all that my piece of ground which I lately purchased of Thomas Stood of the City of Canterbury, deceased, containing by estimation 15 parts more or less next and joining to my said yard in the said parish of St. Margaret.
Item - I further give unto my said wife all my stock in my yard of all sorts of timber boards and planks of all kinds what soever and all my working tools what soever whether in my own possession or in the hands of any person what soever and to have them all appraised and a true inventory made thereof
Item - I further give unto my said wife all my household goods within together with all my ready money book, debts, bonds, notes of hand and all my household goods whatsoever and of all kinds whatsoever to her for proper use and behalf and my further will and pleasure is that whatever notes of hand are due to me from any person or persons whatsoever at the time of my decease, they shall either pay it into her hands. I also give her hand and pay her legal .... for the same for the support of herself and family
and from and immediately after the decease of my said wife Sarah Denne I give unto my son Thomas Denne one seventh part of the houses in Sarah�s hands together with my seventh part of one third of the houses in St. George�s which ... to me by the right of my said wife.
Item - I further give and bequeath unto my son William Denne all that my piece of ground which I purchased of Stood to him and his heirs forever.
Item - I further give and bequeath unto my three daughters Elizabeth Hudson, now wife of Richard Hudson, and Mary Chandler, now wife of James Chandler the younger of the city of Canterbury, Butcher, and Martha Denne my other 6 parts which I purchased of Robert ? and Andrew Day and Peter Hosongarle to them and their heirs forever.
Item - I further give and bequeath unto my son Thomas Denne after my decease the sum
of fifty pounds to be allowed him out of the stock in my yard if he takes it, but if not
to be paid him in money within one year after my decease.
Item - I further give and bequeath to my daughter Martha Denne if she should
marry or change her life the sum of fifty pounds but not before.
Item - My further will and pleasure is that after the decease of my said wife Sarah Denne and my son William Denne shall have served out his apprenticeship and shall attain his full age of one and twenty years, I give all the rest of my personal estate which shall be left at the time of the decease of my said wife Sarah Denne to be equally divided between all my children then living at the time of her decease or at the time of my son William Denne being of age share and share alike.
Item my further will and pleasure is that whereas my daughter Elizabeth and Mary are both married and I gave them fifty pounds apiece at their day of marriage and my will and pleasure is that when therefore shall be a division made of my personal estate after the decease of my said wife and my son William shall attain his full age of one and twenty years then my said daughters Elizabeth Hudson and Mary Chandler shall deduct out of their said share before given them and at .... for the same at ... from the time of their marriage to the time of the decease of my said wife the full sum of fifty pounds which I gave them before at their day of marriage and shall have no right nor share of any of my personal estate until after such deduction shall be fully paid.
Item - Further my will and pleasure is that what soever estates of land are due to me or bonds from either of children shall forthwith after my decease give back to my said wife for the same at the rate of 4 p.cent. and if they are not able to interest for the value from the date of the note to the time of my decease and I do hereby nominate and appoint my said wife Sarah Denne to be full and sole Executrix of this my last will and testament and I do desire my friend Mr. William Collins of the City of Canterbury, Bricklayer to be a Trustee to be aiding and adjoining to my said wife in the discharge of her Trust in this my last will and testament.
In witness whereof I the said Thomas Denne have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal this eight day of April in the 24th year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the second by the grace of God of Great Britain, France and Ireland being defender of the faith 1751.
