Imprimis I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Hills the sum of forty pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to be paid by my Executors hereinafter mentioned in manner following (that is to say) six pounds per year for six years and the remainder four pounds at the end of the seventh year.
Also in case my grandson John Martin (son of my late daughter Anne Martin) should attain the age of fourteen years the sum of twelve pounds of the like lawful money to put him out apprentice but if he should die to remain my Executors.
Also I give to my son John Martin the sum of one shilling to be paid by my Executors three months after my decease.
Also I give to my grandson Thomas Denne the sum of thirty pounds of the like lawful money when he shall attain the age of twenty one years to be paid by my Executors hereafter named.
Also after payment of my debts and legacies above mentioned together with my funeral expenses probate to this my will and other incident charges I give and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder of my personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever in manner and form following (that is to say) unto my sons John Denne and William Denne whom I make constitute and appoint my whole and sole Executors jointly to this my last Will and Testament.
And I do hereby revoke all former
wills and declare this to be my only last Will and Testament contained in one sheet of paper
only.
But before the executing of this my last Will and Testament I give unto my daughter
Elizabeth Hills the bed whereon I lie with blue hangings quilt blanket bolster steddle(?) and
also a flock bed standing in the farther chamber all as it stands immediately after my decease.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this eighth day of August in the
ninth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third by the Grace of God of Great
Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and so forth and in the year of our Lord
one thousand seven hundred and sixty nine. John Denne. Signed sealed and published and
declared by the said John Denne the Testator to be his last Will and Testament in presence of
us who subscribe our names as witnesses hereunto in the presence and at the request of the
Testator.

The before registered will of John Denne deceased was proved the twenty eighth day of January 1778 before the Reverend George Hearne Clerk Surrogate to the Worshipful Francis Simpson Doctor of Laws Official General to the Reverend the Archdeacon of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oaths of John Denne and William Denne the Executors named in the said will they being first sworn well and truly to perform the same.
