In the name of God Amen the First day of November in the yeare of or. Lord God one thousand six hundred thirty two
I Thomas Devall of Sandherst in the County of Kent Collier beinge sicke and weake in body but (thanks be to God) of perfect mind and memory doe make and ordaine this my last will and testament in manner and forme followinge,
Inpr[mi]is I bequeath my soule into the hands of Jesus Christ my onely Saviour and redeemer by whose merits alone I hope to be saved, and my body to the earth from whence it was taken, And as for my worldly goods I will and bequeath them in maner and forme followinge,

Inpris my will is that my wife Mary Devall shall have hold and enjoy my house and lands with all the proffitts thereof and app[ur]tenances thereunto belonging during her naturall life,
And after her decease I give and bequeath the said house and lands to my sonne Thomas Devall and to his heires forever,
And if my said sonne Thomas Devall shall happen to dye before the said Mary Devall, then the said Mary to have the said house and lands to her and her heires forever

Item I will and bequeath to my said sonne Thomas Devall the sume of twenty pounds of good adn lawfull money of England to be paid unto him by my executrix when hee shall accomplish the full age of one and twenty yeares, and twenty pounds more of like good and lawfull money to be paid unto him within six moneths after the death of my wife Mary Devall,

Item I give and bequeath unto my cosen Mary Devall Tenn shillings of good and lawfull money of England, to be paid unto her by my executrix within three monethes after my decease,
Item I give and bequeath unto my Anne Cooper my Servant tenn shillings of like good and lawfull money of England, to be pd. unto her by my executrix wthin six monethes after my decease,
Item I give and bequeath to tenn of the poorest people of the parish of Sandherst Three shillings fower pence to be pd. by my executrix unto the overseers of the poore of the said parish wthin one moneth after my decease, and by them to be equally devided,

All the rest of my unbequeathed goods I give and bequeath to my wife Mary Devall whome I doe make sole executrix of this my last will and testament,
Item I appoint Thomas Longley and James Devall my brother to be overseers of this my last will and testament to whome I give to each of them one shilling to be pd. within one moneth after my decease,

In Witnes whereof I hereunto sett my hand and seal the day and yeare first abovewritten

Thomas Devall al[ia]s Roberts was buried at St. Nicholas, Sandhurst, Kent on 3 Nov 1632.
Thomas Devall als Roberts was married to Mary Harnden at Sandhurst on 5 Apr 1624.
9 Nov 1628 son Thomas – baptised at St. Nicholas, Sandhurst, Kent.
Mary Devall (the widow) married 29 Apr 1634 to Richard Sharmon at Sandhurst.
