Item I give to my loving wife Mary Dodd such bedding and hoshold goods as shee shall thinke fitt to use dureing her life and allso such sheetes and linnen as shee pleases to bee at her disposeing amongst my children att such time as shee shall thinke fitt and as they shall best desorne [deserve?]
Item I give and bequeath to my sonne Robert Dodd the summe of one hundred pounds to be paid to him by my executor within one yeare
next after my decease
Item I give unto my daughter Elizabeth Solley, widow the like summe of one hundred pounds to be paid to her by mu executor within twelve
moneths next after my decease
Item I give to my grandchild Robert Dodd sonne? of my aforesaid sonne Robert Dodd
and to my grandchildren Richard Steed & Robert Steed sonnes of Mary Steed my daughter,
and to my grandchildren Joseph Childs and Avery Childs, sonnes of my daughter Pleasant Childs;
and to my grandchildren and to my grandchilde Mary Steed daughter of my aforesaid daughter Mary Steed
the severall summes of money following, That is to say
to every of my said grandchildren being mankind the severall sumes of five pounds a peece
and to the said Mary Steed my grandchilde the sume of fiftie shillings
to be paid to them severally and respectively as they shall attaine the severall ages of eighteene yeares
All the residue of my goods chattells stocke and crop and debts owing to mee att my death not otherwise by mee in this my will given and bequeathed I give and bequeath unto my loving sonne Jarvis Dodd whome I doe heereby constitute and appoynt to be sole executor of this my last will and testament heereby requireing him to be dutifull to his mother and kinde and loving to his brothers and sisters as becometh brothers and allso to see this my last will and testament truly performed in all things according to my true intent and meaning heerein declared and expressed
This is the last will and testament of mee the aforesaid Robert Dodd made and declared the day and yeare first above written touching and concerning all my Lands and tenem[en]ts whatsoever
First of all I give and devise to my loving wife Mary Dodd one annuity of yearlie rent chardge of
twenty pounds of good and lawfull money of England to be issueing and going and
to receive perceived and taken out of All that my messuage a farme scituate and being in Hearne in
the county of Kent and out of the barne stable garden orchard and yard thereunto belonging and out
of all the lands arable & pasture therewith used and enjoyed now or late in the occupacon of Richard Constant
To have hold and enjoy the said annuity or yearly rent chardge of twentie pounds unto my said wife
and her assignes for & dureing her naturall life, payable at the fower most usuall feasts in the yeare,
That is to say, of the birth of our Lord Christ, Thannunciacon of the blessed Virgin
Mary, The Nativity of St. John the Baptist and St. Michael the Archangell by even and equall porcons
The first payment to begin att the first of the said feasts which shall first and next happen after my decease
Item I give and devise to my sonne Thomas Dodd one annuity or yearly rent chardge of ten pounds per ann[u]m to be allso issueing and going and to be received and taken out of my aforesaid messuage farme lands and tenements lying and being in Hearne aforesaid and every part thereof To be had and holden and to be received perceived and taken unto my said sonne Thomas Dodd and his assigns for and during his n[atu]rall life payable att the fower most usuall feasts before me ucodd [recited?] the first payment to beginn and to be made att the first of the said feasts wch shall next happen after my decease
And if it shall happen that either of the said Annuity or yearlie rent chardge of twenty pounds or the
said annuity or yearlie rent chardge of ten pounds to be behinde and not paid by the space of
fourteene dayes next after any of the said feasts dayes att wch as aforesaid the same ought to be paid
Then I doe hereby give and grant to my said wife and to my said sonne Thomas and to either of them
and to their and either of their assignes full power and authority for non payment of the said
annuities or either of them to enter into my said messuage lands and tenements or into any part
thereof and to distreine for such annuity soe being behinde and unpaid
And the distresse and distresses to take leade drive and carrie away and the same to deteine withold
and keepe untill the said annuities and either of them so being behind and unpaid and all costs and
chardges in the behalfe susteined shall be to my said wife and to my said sonne Thomas
Dodd and to either of them fully satisfied and paid
And I doe heereby require and chardge my sonne Jarvis Dodd and his heires to satisfy and pay the said severall annuities or rent chardges to my
said wife and to my said sonne Thomas as the same shall become due and payable according to the true meaning of this my will
And I doe heereby give and devise to my sonne Ambrose Dodd all my estate interest and terme of yeares wch I have yet to come and unexpired of & in a certaine messuage being the goale and house of correction with their appurtenances scituate and being in the parish of St. Dunstans neere the Citty of Canterbury in the county of Kent and all the benefit and profit thereof during all the terme of yeares therein to come att the time of my decease
Item I give and devise to my loving sonne Jarvis Dodd all that my said messuage or farme lands and tenements lying and being in Hearne aforesaid
And all those my Landes wth thappurteances lying and being att Upstreete in the parish of Chistlett in the county of Kent
And all those my messuages lands and tenements scituate and being in Elham in the county of Kent And all those my messuages
or farme lands and tenements lying and being in Hastingleigh and elsewhere wch I late purchased to
mee & my heires of John Claringbold
To have and to hold all and singular the said messuages lands and tenements and every part thereof to my said sonne Jarvis Dodd his heires and
assigns for ever in fee simple, chardged with the rent chardges before menconed
And I doe heereby will and appoynt my said tenem[en]ts and lands in Elham aforesaid to be sold to raise
money for the payment of my legacies before given in and by this will to my children and grandchildren as afore is menconed
And I doe heereby require and appoynt my said wife and all my sonnes before named vizt. Thomas, Robert and Ambrose to releasse theire right and title to all my said lands and tenements to my said sonne Jarvis and his heires (except the said severall annuities before given) before they or any of them shall receive any benefitt by this my will to the end that no difference may heereafter happen or arise betweene him and them
In witnesse whereof to this my last will and testament conteyned in fower sheetes of paper I have to
every sheete thereof sett my hand and to the top thereof sett my seale dated the day and yeare heerein first written

Elizabeth Dadd was bap. 10 Feb 1638, d. of Robert & Mary at St. Nicholas, Sturry, Kent.
Elizabeth Dadd, 21, d. of Robert Dadd, Yeoman of Littlebourne, married Stephen Solley, 27, Maltster of Ickham on 26 Mar 1661 at St. Mary Bredin,
Canterbury, Kent. Stephen Solley was buried 8 May 1662 at St. Nicholas, Ash-next-Sandwich, Kent.
Daughter Mary Dod married Richard Steed 4 Oct 1651 at St. Vincent, Littlebourne.
Daughter Plesant Dod was baptised 22 Jan 1636/37, d. of Robert & Mary at Sturry.
Pleasant Dadd married Michael Childs Mar 1655 at SS Comos & Damian, Blean, Kent.
Son Jervis Dadd/Dodd was baptised 14 Nov 1634 at Sturry s. of Robert & Mary.
Son Ambrose Dadd was bap. at St. Nicholas, Sturry on 24 Apr 1642, s. of Robert & Mary.
