Will of John Duckesbery

of Bearsted, Kent

First I do hereby give and devise unto my dear wife Mary Duckesbery and to her heirs and assignes for ever All and every my Manor Messuages Cottages Farms Lands Tenements and hereditaments whatsoever with their and every of their appurtenances situate lying and being in the parishes of Hollingbourne, Bearsted, Thurnham, Boughton Aluph, Maidstone, Lidgean and Minster (in the Isle of Sheppy) in the said County of Kent To and for her and their own absolute use and betroof for ever

And also I give and devise all the rest and residue of my Real Estate whether it be in possession Reversion or Remainder or otherwise howsoever and wheresoever which I am now possessed of interested in or intitled unto or which I may hereafter or at the time of my Death be possessed of, interested in, or intitled unto, unto my said Dear wife Mary Duckesbery and to her heirs and assignes for ever

And I also give and bequeath unto my said dear Wife and to her Executors Administrators and Assignes forever All my personal Estate of what Nature kind quality or condition soever To and for her and their own absolute use and benefit she or they paying the principal sum with interest which I I owe upon or under a Mortgage which I have heretofore made of part of my said Lands or Tenements and all my other Debts and Funeral expenses it being my earnest desire that they should all be honestly paid and discharged And I make and appoint my said Dear Wife Mary Duckesbery Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all other Wills by me before made. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Second day of July in the year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and Sixty John Duckesbery Signed sealed published and declared by the testator John Duckesbery to be his last will and testament in the presence of us whom in his sight and presence and at his request and in the sight and presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses

The before registered Will of John Duckesbery deceased was proved this Twenty third day of June 1766 before the Reverend Thomas Leigh Clerk Surrogate to the Worshipful Francis Simpson Doctor of Laws Official general to the Reverend the Archdeacon of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of Mary Duckesbery
