In the Name of God Amen I Dorothy Dunkin of Benenden in the County of Kent Widow being an aged person but of sound and perfect Mind and Memory (blessed be Almighty God for the same) and therefore considering the Uncertainty of this mortal Life do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in Manner and Form following (that is to say)
First and principally I recommend my Soul into the hands of God that gave it and my Body to the Earth to be decently buried at the Discretion of my Executrix herein after named and as touching such worldly Estate as it hath pleased Almighty God to bless me in this Life I give and dispose of the same in the following Manner (that is to say)

First I order and desire that all my just Debts and Funeral Expences are fully discharged and paid by my Executrix
Again I give and bequeath unto my two Grandchildren Peggy Dunkin and Edward Dunkin both of the said Parish of Benenden and children of my late son Edward Dunkin of the said Parish All my Goods chattels and personal Estate of what Kind or Nature soever and wheresoever the same is or may be found To hold to them and the Survivor of them their Heirs and Assigns forever share and share alike

And my Will and desire is that my Daughter in Law Margaret Dunkin their Mother immediately after my decease do take an Inventory of all my aforesaid personal Estate and apply the same to the best Use and Improvements for the Benefit of my said Grandchildren and that deliver the said Inventory together with all my personal Estate as aforesaid to them or to the Survivors of them as they shall severally arrive at the Age of Eighteen Years

And Lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said daughter in Law Margaret Dunkin to be my sole Executrix to this my last Will and Testament revoking and making void all other former Will or Wills by me made and ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof I have hereunto sett my Hand and Seal the Twenty Sixth Day of November in the Sixteenth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith an soforth and in the Year of our Lord one Thousand seven Hundred and Forty two

Signed sealed published and declared by the above named Dorothy Dunkin to be her last Will and Testament in the presence of Us who have hereunto sett our Names as Witnesses in the presence of the said
Lydia Atwood; Saml. Atwood.

The above registered Will of Dorothy Dunkin of Benenden deceased was proved the Twelfth day of April in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty three before the Worshipful Edward Simpson, Doctor of Laws, Official General to the Reverend the Archdeacon of Canterbury, lawfully constituted by the Oath of Margaret Dunkin sole Executrix therein named to whom Administration of the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased was committed she being first sworn well and truly to perform the same.

5th May 1692 Edward DUNKIN of Tenterden, co. Kent, & Dorothy FINCH, of the same, Maiden. Sureties: said E.D. and John Swift of Peasmarsh [Sussex]
