This is the last Will and Testament of me John Dunkin of Ramsgate in the Isle of Thanet in the County of Kent Mariner I being of sound and disposing Mind and Memory

First I do hereby ratify and confirm the Settlement made on my Marriage with Susanna my beloved Wife
And do hereby give and Devise All such Messuages Lands Tenements Hereditaments and Real Estate whatsoever as I have or am intitled to in Reversion or Remainder under the said Settlement with all and singular the Appurtenances thereof unto my Sister Sarah Tickner (Wife of John Tickner of Ramsgate aforesaid, Mariner) and to her Heirs and Assigns for ever

And as for and concerning all such Monies Stocks in the Publick Funds Securities for Money Effects Goods Chattels and Personal Estate as I shall be possessed of interested in or intitled unto at the time of my decease (after Payment of my just Debts and Funeral Charges) I Give and bequeath the Annual Interest Dividends and Profits and the Custody Possession and reasonable using thereof unto my said Wife for and during the Term of her Natural Life

And from and after her decease I Give and Bequeath All the said Monies Stock Securities Effects Goods Chattels and Personal Estate to all and every my Child or Children (if I shall leave any) equally to be divided between them (if more than one)
But if I shall leave no Child or Children living at my decease of if I shall leave any Child or Children then living and all such Child or Children shall afterwards die under the age of Twenty one Years and without Issue, then I Give and bequeath all the said Monies Stock Securities Effects Goods Chattels and Personal Estate to my said Sister Sarah Ticknor

And I do constitute and appoint my said Wife Susanna Dunkin the sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament
And do hereby revoke all former Wills by me made

In Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my Hand and Seal this Eighteenth Day of April in the Sixth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith and so forth And in the year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Sixty six

Signed and Sealed by the said Testator John Dunkin and by him published and declared as and for his last Will & Testament in the presence of us who have here subscribed our Names in his presence

Admon. [Administration] with the before Registered Will of John Dunkin deceased was on the fifth day of March 1789 before the Reverend Joshua Dix llD [Doctor of Law], Surrogate to the Worshipful Sir William Scott, Knight, Doctor of Laws, Official General to the Reverend the Archdeacon of Canterbury, Lawfully constituted, Granted to Mary Dunkin the Daughter of the deceased and a Legatee named in the said Will (Susanna Dunkin the sole Executrix therein appointed dying in the Lifetime of the said Testator) she being first duly sworn to admr.

Notes:
John Dunkin was buried, aged 50, at St. Lawrence, Thanet, Kent, on 28th December 1788. He is given as having died of Gout.
Dunkin Susannah, Wife of John, aged 29, 15th September 1773 was buried at St. Lawrence
John Dunkin of this Parish, Bachelor and Susanna Joad of the Same Parish, Spinster were Married in this Church by Licence on this 10th Day of Febry. in the Year One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty Six by me R. Taylor, Vicar. In the Presence of: George Joad, John Hales.
