In the name of God, amen : I John Elmestone of the parrishe of Chilham, sicke in bodie but of sounde and perfect memorie & remembrance (thankes be given to god therefore) do ordene and make this my laste will and Testament in manner and fourme followinge.
First I will and bequeathe my soule into the hands of almightie God my maker and my bodie to be burie in the Churchyard of the parrishe of Chilham

Item I will that all suche Landes as I have lyinge within the parrishe of Boughton Mallard to be sold by my Executrix and mony to be made therof; and out of the same I will and bequeathe unto the poore people of the parrishe of Charinge �10, which mony I will shall remaine in the hands of the Church wardens, and chiefe of the said parrish of Charinge, and the profit and commoditie yearlie arisinge of the same to be bestowed upon the poore of the said parrishe for ever

Item I will and bequeathe unto my brother Abraham Elmestone Tenn Pounds.
Item I will and bequeath unto my brother Isaac Elmestone Tenn Pounds.
Item I will and bequeath unto my sister Anne Pattenden Tenn Pounds.
Item I will and bequeath unto everie of my Brethren and Sisters children to each of them Tenn shillinges a peece.

Item I will and bequeath unto my Sister Marie Fort my Tenement and such lands as I have lyinge within the parrish of Charinge, to have and to enioye the same during the terme of her life, and after her death I will that the said house and lands shall remaine unto Isaac Wood and Jane Wood (children unto my said Sister Marie Fort) equallie to be devided betwene them and ther heires for ever.

Item I will and bequeath towards the reparacons of the parrish church of Charinge Tenne Shillinges.
Item I will and bequeath unto the poore of the parrish of Chilham Tenn shillinges to be distributed amonge them at the time of my buriall.
Item I bequeath unto Isaac Wood one pare of sheetes.
Item I bequeath unto Jane Wood one pare of Sheetes.

All the rest of my goodes and moveables whatsoever (my debtes paide, my legacies perfourmed and my funerall dischardged) I wholie give & bequeath unto my said sister Marie Forte whom I ordeine and make my sole and onlie Executrix.

In witnes whereof I have sette my hand the Twentithe daie of August, and in the yeare of our lord One thousand Five hundreth fowre score and eyghtene
