In the Name of God Amen the eighteenth day of January in the Year of our Lord One Thousand seven hundred and Forty and two
I Frances Elwood of St Margarets Rochester in the County of Kent spinster being sick and weak but of sound and disposing Mind Memory and Understanding and considering the Uncertainty of this Transitory Life do make and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament in manner and form following That is to say
First and most principally I recommend my Soul to Almighty God that gave it through the Merits Death and Passion of my everblessed Saviour Jesus Christ I shall have full and free pardon and Forgiveness of all my sins and to inherit Everlasting Life and my Body I commit to the Earth to be decently buried at the Discretion and Appointment of my Executor hereinafter named
And as for touching and concerning the Disposition of All and Singular my Temporal Estate which at the time of my decease it shall please Almighty God to bestow on me I give devise bequeath and bestow thereof as followeth my Debts and Funeral Charges being first paid and discharged

Item to Mary Saunders of Saint Margarets Rochester aforesaid Spinster I give devise and bequeath the Sum of tenn Pounds of lawfull Money of Great Britain and to her heirs Executors Administators and Assigns to be paid to her or them in one Month after my Decease

Item to John Heart of St Martins in the Strand London haberdasher of small Wares my Kinsman and to his Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns I give devise and bequeath all that Leasehold Estate of a Messuage or Tenement with its Appurtenances situate lying and being in the parish of St Giles Cripplegate London without held by Lease from the Vicar and Churchwardens of the said Parish of St Giles Cripplegate aforesaid and from the Church Wardens of St Lukes in the County of Middlesex forever

Item unto the said John Heart I also give devise and bequeath All and Singular my Wearing Apparel Shop Goods Ready Money Plate Gold Rings Bonds Bills Book Debts and other Debts with all my Household Goods such as Linnen Woolen Beds and Bedding and all other Household Stuff whatsoever it be had or found which shall be due and owing and of Right payable and Belonging to me at the Time of my Decease

and I do hereby nominate and appoint him the said John Heart sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former and other Wills and Testaments by me at any Time heretofore made spoken published and declared and I do hereby ordain these presents to stand and be in full force
