In the name of God Amen The Seaventeenth day of February according to the computation of the Church of England One thousand Six hundred Fortyne nyne [1649/50]
I Thomas Emptage of the parish of St. Peeters in the Island of Thanend [Thanet] and County of Kent Yeoman being sick of body but of sound and perfect memory (thankes be unto Almighty God therefore) doe make and ordaine this my last will and testament in manner and forme as followeth
Imprimis I bequeath my soule unto Almighty God who first gave it unto me, and my body to the earth from whence it came hopeing for salvation trough the only merritts of my saviour Jesus Christ, and desireing to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named

Item I give and bequeath unto the widdow Fleete of Norwood [Thanet] the sume of five shillings to be paid by myne Executor hereafter named within one moneth after my decease
Item I give and bequeath unto John Emptage my Grandchild the Sume of Forty pounds to be paid at his age of one and twenty yeares by myne Executor
Item I give and bequeath unto Mary Emptage my Grandchild the Sume of tenn pounds to be paid at her age of one and twenty yeares by myne Executor
Item I give and bequeath unto Margaret Emptage daughter of my brother Robert Emptage the Sume of twenty shillings to be paid by myne Executor when shee shall make demand thereof

Item I give and bequeath unto my loveing John Emptage [sic] all my moveable estate whatsoever I stand possessed of, he paying my debts, Legacies and funerall expences above specified and doe hereby appoint my loveing sonne John Emptage sole Executor of this my last will and testament utterly revoking all former wills

Item for the disposing of my Lands This is the last will and testament of me the said Thomas Emptage published and declared the day and yeare first above written

Item I give and bequeath all the Messuage and tenement with the appurtenances and all the Land there unto belonging sett lyeing and being in the parish of St. Peter aforesaid with all other Lands whatsoever I stand possessed of to my loveing sonne John Emptage and his heires for ever
