In the Name of God Amen I William Emptage of the parish of St. Peters wthin the Island of Thanet and County of Kent Yeoman beinge of sound and perfect health (thankes be unto Almightie God for the same) Doe make and ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme as followeth
Inprimis I will and bequeath my Soule unto Almightie God my Maker whoe first gave it unto me hopeinge for salvation through the only Mercies of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, And my body to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of myne Executors hereafter named

Item I give and bequeath unto Anne my wife foure pounds a yeare quarterly to be paid unto her by myne Executors dureinge the tearme of her naturall life Notwthstandinge the greate and to apparant cause that she hath given me, not in the least measure to have or show any respect unto her
Provided that if my said wife, or any other person shall in her name or to her use, she molest or trouble my Executor for any other meanes or maintenance That then and from henceforth the said legacie of Foure pounds shall cease and be noe longer paid

Item I give and bequeath unto Sarah my wives daughter five shillings to be paid unto her at her age of one and twenty yeares by mine Executors
Item I give and bequeath unto Mary Emptage my daughter One hundred pounds to be paid unto her at her age of one and Twenty yeares or day of Marriage w'ch shall first happen by mine Executors whome I doe desire .... see my said daughter Mary Emptage carefully educated unto the time above specified

Item I give and bequeath unto John Emptage my sonne all the residue of my goods and chattles, moveables and unmoveables? whatsoever after my legacies in this my Will be satisfied at his age of one and twenty yeares to be paid by mine Executor

Provided that if my sonne John or my Daughter Mary chance to dye before they doe accomplish their ages or daies on w'ch the said legacies ought to be paid, Then my meaninge is that the Survivor shall enjoy the legacie of the partie soe dyeinge

Item I give and bequeath unto my lovinge brother John Emptage five pounds and my best horse,
and doe hereby appoint John Emptage my brother to be Executor of this my last Will and Testament
And doe desire that my sonne John Emptage should be carefully educated by myne Executor

And doe appoint my lovinge freind John Reade to assist myne Executor as Overseer of my children to see that my moveables and chattells be apprized accordinge to the indifferent value of them, and for his paines I doe give unto John Read Twentie shillings

In Witnes whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seale the twentie third day of November accordinge to the computacon of the church of England one thowsand six hundred forty nine

Re-sworn: 2nd December 1712 [Latin] - Admin to Sarah Kemp wife of Jordan Kemp, daughter of and administrator of Maria Grant als Emptage deceased, daughter & residuary legatee of William Emptage. John Emptage brother & executor deceased.
