In the name of God Amen I John Emptage the Elder of Queenborough in the County of Kent Mariner being in perfect health and sound understanding but knowing the frailty of human life do make this my last Will and Testament (that is to say)

I do hereby will give and bequeath to my beloved Wife Mary Emptage during her natural life after my debts are paid all my Goods Chattels and Property of every description, two hundred pounds at use in the funds of the Corporation of Queensborough aforesaid, all sum or sums of money due to me from the Corporation of Queensborough, the Board of Ordnance or any other source whatsoever

And at her decease my goods and chattels to be valued and disposed of as my Executors hereafter named may seem best and the proceeds thereof with the whole of the then remayning property to be equally divided between my sons and daughters share and share alike or in case of death of one or more of my sons and daughters their Children to receive their parents share

And I hereby appoint my son William Emptage and John Farr the elder to be my Executors to carry this my last Will into Execution
Given under my own hand and seal at Queenborough in the County of Kent this 26th day of October one thousand eight hundred and twenty four

Proved at London the 28th Nov'r 1833 before the Worshipful William Calvedey Curteis, Doctor of Laws & Surrogate by the oaths of William Emptage the son and John Farr the Executors to whom administration was granted having been first sworn duly to administer.
