In the Name of God Amen I Mary Everard of the Towne of Faversham in the County of Kent Widow being of Sound and disposing mind Memory and understanding do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and from following (that is to say)
First and Principally I bequeath my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God my Creator hoping and Assuredly believing by and thro the Merits death and Passion of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to have full and Free Remission of all my Sins and to inherit Eternal Life and my Body I commit to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executrix hereinafter named and as to what Worldly God of his Bounty has disposed upon me I Dispose of the Same as follows

Whereas I am intitled imediately after the death of Thomas Lane of the City of Canterbury to one third Part of the whole in three equall Parts to be divided of and in one Moiety or half Part of a Messuage Farm and Lands with the Appurtenances Situate at Bonnington in the said County of Kent now in the Possession of John Gotherd his Assigns or undertenants
I hereby give and devise the said third Part of the Messuage Farm and Lands unto my Neice Thomazin Lawson Wife of James Lawson Gentleman To hold to her her Heirs and Assigns for ever

Item I give and bequeath unto my Neice Mary Pettman daughter of my Brother John Pettman of the City of Canterbury Tanner the Sum of One Thousand Pounds to be paid in manner following that is to say Five hundred Pounds part thereof in Six Kalendar Months next after my Decease and the remaining Five hundred Pounds within one year next after my Decease

Item I give and bequeath unto my said Neice Thomasin Lawson all my Capital Southsea Stock and Southsea Annuities whether old or new together with the interest and dividends thereof as Shall at my Decease either Stand in my own Name or in the Name of my late Husband Stephen Everard deceased or in the name of any other Person or Persons in Trust for me or for my said Late husband deceased

I Give and bequeath unto Edward Pettman Son of my said Brother John Pettman the Sum of One hundred Pounds to be paid to him in Six Months after my Decease

Item I Give unto my said Brother John Pettman and to Sarah Pettman his Wife the Sum of Ten Pounds each for Mourning

Item I Give and bequeath unto such of my Servants as shall live with me at the time of my Decease mourning at the dyscretion of my Executrix hereafter named

Item I give and bequeath unto my said Neice Mary Pettman my Gold Watch and Chain with its Appurtenances and also my Silver Cup with two handles and Cover thereto belonging to be delivered to her immediately after my Decease

Item I give and bequeath unto my old Servant Susanna Jeffryes in case She shall live with me at the time of my decease Five pounds by the year for and during the Term of her natural Life the same to paid to be paid Quarterly the first Payment thereof to begin and be made on the first usual Quarter Day as Shall happen next after my Decease

Item all the rest Residue and remainder of my real and Personal estate whatsoever and of what nature or kind soever whereof or wherein I shall be seized or Possessed of or in any ways intitled unto at the time of my death I Give devise and bequeath the same unto my said Niece Thomazin Lawson her Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns forever

and I do hereby nominate constitute and Appoint the said Thomazin Lawson full and sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament and hereby revoking all former Will and Wills by me at any time heretofore Do declare this to be my last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof I the said Mary Everard have to this to be my last Will and Testament contained in one Sheet of Paper Set my hand and Seal this first day of Octr in the Seventeenth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and in the Year of our Lord one Thousand Seven hundred and Forty three Mary Everard (Attestation Clause)

This is a Codicil to my last Will and Testament bearing date the first day of October one Thousand Seven hundred and Forty three

Item I Give unto my Nephew Robert Pettman One Annuity or Yearly Sum of twenty Pounds per Annum for and during the Term of his natural Life payable at the four most usual Feasts or Days of Payment in the Year the First payment to be made on such of the said Days as Shall happen next after my decease the same to be paid out of the Interest and Produce of ..... my Personal Estate by my Executrix Thomazin Lawson
and I hereby forgive all Sum and Sums of Money that shall be due to me from my Nephew Robert Pettman at the time of my Decease whether upon Mortgage Bonds or any other Security whatsoever and that the Securities for the same shall be given up to him by my Executrix immediately after my decease

I Give to my said Nephews Robert Pettman and Edward Pettman the Sum of Ten Guineas each to .... Mourning
I give to my old Servant Susanna Jeffryes if She shall live with me at the time of my decease the Red Bed in the Garrett with the Furniture two pair of Sheets Six Napkins six Towells my six Turkey workt Chairs One Copper Boiling Pott One .... Pan Six Pewter Plates two pewter Dishes and such other necessary Furniture as my Executrix shall think proper together with the Sum of Five Pounds in Money over and besides what I have given her in and by my said Will to be paid and delivered to her immediately after my decease

I Give to each of my Servants as shall live with me at my Decease Five Pounds A Peice over and above what I have given either of them by my said Will

and my Mind further is that this Codicil shall be Accepted and taken as part of my last Will and Testament As Witness my Hand this Tenth Day of October One Thousand seven hundred and fifty three Mary Everard

7 June 1782 Administration with Will and Codicil annexed granted to James Lawson the Husband the said Thomazin Lawson having died intestate
