First and principally I bequeath my soul unto my lord Jesus Christ my only saviour and redeemer by whose death & passion I trust & assuredly believe to have full remission of all my sins and my body to the earth from whence it came to be buried where & when it shall please god to call me unto his mercy, which I here lay down in full assurance that god will raise it up again by his infinite power in the last day unto life eternal and concerning those goods that god of his goodness hath lent me and made me steward of I leave them unto the world from whence they came in full assurance of more better & more enduring substance? in heaven and bequeath them in manner & form following.
I give and bequeath unto 15 poor people to be paid unto them within ten days after my decease

Item I give unto Mr Kid or some other preaching minister 6s 8d to preach a sermon at my
funeral.
Item I give & bequeath unto Jane Joad my mother 40s to be paid her twelve pence a
week if she so long shall live.
All the residue of my goods and chattels my debts legacies, bequests & funeral expenses paid & discharged I wholly give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Faireway whom I make & ordain my sole executrix of this my last will & testament to see it performed and fulfilled in all respects. And my mind and will is to make Richard Coker of Egerton my overseer to this my last will and testament and for his pains my will & mind is that my executrix pay him 40s.
This is the last will and testament of me the said Henry Faireway for the disposing of all my
goods made & declared the day & year first above written. In witness whereof I have set to my
