Imprimis I Give and Bequeath unto my Son Thomas Farris the the Sume of five Shillings of Lawfull money of Great Britain to be paid to him by my Executor hereinafter named within one Year next after my Decease
Item I Give and Devise unto my Daughter Mary Farris All that my Messuage or Tenement Yard Orchard Garden and Premisses thereunto belonging
with the Appurtenances and Adjoining and under the same Roof with the Premisses now in my Occupation called the Kings Head Situate lyeng and being in
Charing aforesaid and now in the Occupation of John Willson and the Widow Beckett or their assignes
And also all that Shop Adjoyning to the said Kings Head now in the Occupation of William Cones or his Assignes together with fee way and
passage to go and fetch Water from the aforesaid Premisses or otherwise as Occasion shall require To hold the said Messuage or Tenement Shop and
Premisses unto my said Daughter Mary Farris for and during the Term of her Natural Life
and from and after her Decease I Give and Devise the said Messuage or Tenement Shop and Premisses with their and every of their Appurtenances unto
my Son Charles Farris his Heirs and Assigns forever
Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Daughter the said Mary Farris one Green feather Bed and all the Furniture thereunto belonging and all my Wearing
Apparell both Linnen and Woollen four Chestes and all the Linnen that is therein one Glass one Tale six Carve Chairs one old Case of Drawers which
said Bed Chests Linnen Glass tables Chairs and Wearing Apparel are in the two Rooms over the Gatehouse
Also I Give and Bequeath unto my said Daughter Mary Farris one Case of Drawers in the best Chamber and also one Chest and two Boxes in the Dressing
room Garrett to be delivered to her immediately after my decease by my Executor hereinafter named
Item I Give and Devise unto my Son Charles Farris his Heirs and Assigns forever All that my Messuage or Tenement commonly called or known by the name or Sign of the Kings Head together with Brewhouse Stables Yard Garden and Backside thereunto belonging with their and every of their Appurt[enance]s Scituate lying and being in Charing aforesaid and now in my own Occupation unto my said Son Charles Farris his Heirs and Assigns for ever
Subject and Liable to one annuity or Yearly Rent Charge of two Pounds of Lawfull money of Great Britain to my said Daughter Mary Farris for the term of four Years to Commence from the time of my Decease Payable Quarterly the first Payment to begin and to be made at the first feast day or Quarter day which shall next happen after my decease and in default thereof the my Will and Mind is that my said Daughter Mary Farris enter upon the said premisses and Destrane [distrain] for the same and the Distress and Distresses then and there made to detain for the space of five days and if not Replevied to sell and dispose of the same for the payment of the said Annuity and all Arrearages thereof and all costs charges and Expences touching or concerning the same
Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Grandaughter Mariam Sowerby two Chests and one Box which are in the Dressing room Garrett
also I Give my said Grandaughter Maria Sowerby all her Board and all other charges and Expences which I have been at in bringing her up from the
time of her Birth to the day of her Death
Item all the Rest residue and remainder of my Goods Chattels and Personall Estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature or kind soever after my debts Legacys and funerall Expences are Satisfyed and paid I Give and Bequeath the same unto my said Son Charles Farris his Executors Administrators and Assigns
And I do hereby Nominate Constitute and appoint my said Son Charles Farriss whole and Sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament
And do hereby revoke disannull and make void all former and other Wills by me at any time heretofore made and do declare this to by my only Last Will
and Testament
In Witnesse whereof I the said Elizabeth Farris have to this my Last Will and Testament contained in two Sheets of paper to the first of which Sheets
I have set my Hand and to this second and last Sheet my Hand and Seal the Seventeenth day of January in the Twenty fifth Year of the Reign of our
Sovereign Lord George the Second by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the faith and so forth and in the Year our
Lord one Thousand seven Hundred and fifty Two

The Before registered Will of Elizabeth Farris deceased was Proved the 23 day of March 1759 before the Reverend William Broderip, Clerk, Surrogate to the Worshipful Edward Simpson, Doctor of Laws, Commissary General of the City and Diocese of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oath of Charles Farris Sole Executor named in the said Will being first sworn duly to perform the same, etc.
Notes:
Elizabeth Farris was buried at All Saints, Charing on 22nd March 1759.
Robert Farris of Godmersham married Elizabeth Edwards (also of Godmersham) on 4th October 1713 at SS Cosmos & Damian, Challock, Kent.
