In the Name of God Amen I Samuel Fasham of Deal in the County of Kent, Brewer, being indisposed in Body but of sound and perfect Mind and Memory and considering the Uncertainty of this Life do make and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner following
First I comend my Soul unto Almighty God my Maker and my Body to the Earth from whence it is And as for my worldly Estate I give devise and bequeath the same in manner and Form following, that it to say

my Farm Lands Tenements and Hereditaments with the Appurtenances situat lying and being in the parish of Allhallows in the Hundred of Hoo in the said County of Kent and now or late in the Tenure or Occupation of John Ware the Younger or his Assigns
I give devise and bequeath unto my three Daughters Joanna Fasham, Spinster; Martha Daws (wife of Bethel Daws, Gentleman) and Elizabeth Roby (Wife of Edward Roby, Tallow Chandler) and their Heirs and Assigns forever equally to be divided between them as Tenants in Common and not as joint Tenants

Item All that my Messuage or Tenement and Ground with the Lordship Hereditaments and Appurtenances thereunto belonging situat lying and being in the Parish of Great Mongeham in the said County of Kent at or near a place there called Shoulden Bank and known by the Name of the Red Lyon and now in the Occupation of John Paramor or his Assigns
And also all those Three and twenty Arces and one half Arce of arable Land with the Appurtenances lying and being in the Parish of Shoulden in the said County of Kent and now in (the) Occupation of Peter Pettit or of his Assigns
And also All that Messuage Ground and Appurtenances thereunto belonging situat lying and being in Deal aforesaid and known by the Name of the Sign of the Harrow and late in the Occupation of Joane Taylor, Widow
And also all those two peices or parcells of Marsh Land called Long Marsh containing by Estimation Six Acres in Deal aforesaid and now in my own Occupation And also all that Tenement Ground and Appurtenances situat and being in Deal aforesaid being against the Five Bells and also the Barn there called my Straw Barn and now also in my own Occupation
And also all that Messuage and One Acre of Ground and Appurtenances thereunto belonging situat and being in Deal aforesaid and now in the Occupation of Thomas Harvey or of his Assigns And also all those two Tenements (next adjoining to my Brewhouse) with the Ground Outhouses Shops and Appurtenances thereunto belonging in Deal aforesaid and now in the Occupation of Richard Rogers the Younger and John Ratley or their Assigns
I give devise and bequeath unto my said three Daughters Joanna Fasham, Martha Daws and Elizabeth Roby and to their Heirs and Assigns forever equally to be divided between them as Tenants in Common and not as joint Tenants
And Also I give to my said Daughters All the Rents and Profits that shall be due at my Decease for all and singular the said Messuages Lands and Premises equally to be divided between them

Item I give devise and bequeath two full and equal undivided Third parts (the whole in three equal parts to be divided) of and in all those four several peices or parcells of Land and Premises with the Appurtenances lying and being in Deal aforesaid which I lately purchased of Richard Morris of Walmer, yeoman, unto my said Daughter Joanna Fasham and to her Heirs and Assigns for ever
And I give devise and bequeath the other One full and equal undivided Third part of the said four peices of Land and Premises purchased of the said Richard Morris unto my said Daughter Martha Daws and to her Heirs and Assigns for ever

Item All that Messuage or Tenement, Brewhouse, Malthouse, barn (commonly called my Hay Barn), Stable, Outhouses, backside, Orchard, Stackyard and two Acres of Land adjoining to the said Orchard and all ways, passages, priviledges and Appurtenances thereunto belonging or therewith used and enjoyed situat lying and being in Deal aforesaid as the same now is on my own Occupation I give devise and bequeath (Notwithstanding his Undutifullness and Disobedience to me from his youth) unto my Son Anthony Fasham and to his Heirs and Assigns for ever

Item I give to my said Son Anthony Fasham All my Casks, Brewing Vessells, Copper, Horses, Chariots, Plow, Harrows, Park, Courts and all other Utensils and Things belonging to my brewing Trade together with the Stock of Beer and Corne that I shall leave in Customers Cellers, Storehouses, Malthouse and elsewhere at the time of my Decease

Item I give and bequeath unto the said Anthony Fasham his Executors Administrators and Assigns All that Tenement or Dwelling House and Ground with the half part of the Capstone Ground thereunto adjoining and belonging situat lying and being on the Beach in Deal aforesaid and commonly called by the Name of the Watermans Arms and now in the Occupation of William Roberts together with the Lease thereof and all Rent that shall be due for the same

Item I give to my said Son Anthony Fasham two hundred and Fifty pounds of my South Sea Annuity with the Interest that shall be due for the same
Item I give to my said Daughter Joanna Fasham Fifty pounds of my said Annuity
To my said Daughter Martha Daws other Fifty pounds of my said Annuity
and to their respective Executors Administrators and Assigns together with the Interest that shall be due for the same

Item All that my Messuage, Ground and Premisses in Deal aforesaid commonly known by the Name of the Blew Bell now in two Dwellings together with the Lease thereof I give and bequeath unto my two Daughters Joanna Fasham and Elizabeth Roby (that is to say) One Moiety or half part thereof unto the said Joanna Fasham her Executors Administrators and Assigns and the other Moiety or half part thereof unto the said Elizabeth Roby her Executors Administrators and Assigns and all the Rents that shall be due for the same at my Decease to be equally divided between them

Item I give and bequeath unto my said Daughter Joanna Fasham her Executors Administrators and Assigns All that Tenement or dwelling House, Capstone Ground and Appurtenances thereunto belonging commonly called by the Name of the French Arms situat and being on the Beach in Deal aforesaid and now in the Occupation of Margaret Edwards together with the Lease thereof and all Rent that shall be due for the same at my Decease

Item I give and bequeath unto my said Daughter Elizabeth Roby her Executors Administrators and Assigns All that Tenement or dwelling House, Ground and Appurtenances thereunto belonging situat lying and being on the Beach in Deal aforesaid commonly known by the Name of the Sign of the Packet Boat and late in the Occupation of John Addey together with the Indenture of Lease thereof

Item I give to Elizabeth Fox Wife of Thomas Fox of Deal, Mariner, the Mortgage I have on the Messuage and Premises of John Simmon, Bricklayer, together with the principal Sum of Forty pounds and Interest due thereon

Item I give and bequeath the Sum of Fifty pounds of lawfull money of Great Britain for the Use of the poor of the Parish of Deal aforesaid to remain as a standing Gift for ever to be paid to the Mayor of the said Town for the time being within twelve Months next after my Decease to be by him and the Major part of the Jurats his Bretheren for the time being put out at Interest on such Security as they or the Major part of them shall approve of and the Interest thereof shall be laid out in bread to be distributed to the said poor yearly on New Years Day by the said Mayor and Jurats for the time being to such of the said poor and in such manner as they or the major part of them shall think fit in every year forever hereafter according to the true Intent and meaning of this my Will

Item I give to my Godson Thomas Fox, Son of the aforesaid Thomas Fox the Sum of ten pounds of like money to be paid to him within twelve Months after my Decease
Item My Will is that if my said Son Anthony shall keep on the Brewing Trade that then my said Daughters will as much as in them lyes promote the Interest of their Brother in his carrying on the said Trade

Item All and singular the rest and Residue of my Goods Chattells Moveables Household Stuff and personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever of what Nature Kind or Quality soever (the Stock given to my said Son excepted) after payment and Discharge of my Debts Legacys Funerals and Charges of probate of this my Will and all incident Charges about the Execution thereof I give and bequeath unto my said Son Anthony Fasham and my said daughters Joanna Fasham, Martha Daws and Elizabeth Roby equally to be divided between them share and share alike

And I make ordain constitute and appoint my said daughters Joanna Fasham, Martha Daws and Elizabeth Roby joint Executors of this my last Will and Testament
And I Desire and appoint my Son in Law Bethel Daws to be Overseer of this my Will and to assist my Executors in the Execution thereof
And revoking all former Wills be me made I do make and declare this only to my true and last Will and Testament contained in the two pr[e]cedent and this present Sheet of written paper

Item the ten pounds given to my Godson Thomas Fox my Will is the same shall be paid him out of the Forty pounds principal money given to his Mother as aforesaid And I give to her but Thirty Pounds principal money with the Interest

In Witness whereof I the said Samuel Fasham to each Sheet of this my Will have set my Hand and Seal the Thirtieth Day of December Anno Dini 1729 And in the Third Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord King George the Second over Great Britain &c.

Notes:
Mr. Samuel Fasham from Deal was buried 16th February 1729/30 at St. Martin, Great Mongeham, Kent.
He had married by Licence: Fasham, Samuel, of Deal, Mariner, bachelor and Martha Gardner, same parish, singlewoman. At Deal, Sholden or Ringwould. April 10, 1691. They actually got married 12 Apr 1691 at St. Andrew, Shepherdswell (Sibertswold).
Daughter Martha first married John Jekin 17 May 1718 at Shepherdswell, Kent.
She married Bethel Daws by Licence: Daws, Bethel of Walmer Bachelor and Martha Jekins of Deal, widow. At. St. George, Canterbury or Deal Aug 9 1727. They married in St. George, Canterbury.
Daughter Elizabeth Fasham married Edward Roby 12 Sep 1728 at St. Leonard, Deal.
Daughter Joanna Fasham was buried at Great Mongeham as Mrs. Joanna Fasham from Canterbury 16 Apr 1730.
Anthony Fasham was baptised 16 Aug 1698 to Samuel & Martha at St. Leonard, Deal.
