In the Name of God Amen I Paul Fourestier of the City of Canterbury Clerk one of the Ministers of the Walloon Congregation being of sound and disposing Mind and Memory God be praised for the same do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following
first and principally I commend my Soul to almighty God my Creator hoping to obtain Everlasting Salvation through the Meritorious death and sufferings of my blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and my Body I commit to the Earth to be decently Interred at the discretion of my Executors and Executrix hereinafter named and as to such Temporal Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me I give and dispose of the same as follows

Imprimis I give and bequeath unto my Sister Jane Fourestier who now lives with me one Annuity or Yearly rent Charge of Ten Pounds a Year clear of all Taxes and Deductions for and during the Term of her natural Life to be Issuing and going had received and taken out of my Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments and out of my Personal Estate which I do hereby Charge with the payment thereof and to be paid unto her by my Executors herein after named at the four most usual Feasts or Days of Payment in the Year that is to say at the Feasts of Saint Michael the Archangel the Birth of our Lord Jesus Christ the Annunciation of the blessed Virgin Mary and the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist the first Quarterly Payment thereof to begin and be made on such of the said Feasts as shall happen next after my Decease
and if it shall happen that the said Annuity or Yearly rent Charge of Ten Pounds a Year or any part thereof to be behind or unpaid by the Space of one and Twenty Days next after the said Feasts or Days on which as aforesaid the same ought to be paid that then and so often it shall and may be lawful to and for the said Jane Fourestier and her assigns into and upon my Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments to enter and distrain and the distress and Distresses then and there found to Lead Prive take and carry away and the same to impound detain and keep or otherwise sell and dispose of the same until the said Annuity and all arrears thereof if any together with all Costs and Charges in and about the same shall be fully paid and discharged

Item I give and bequeath unto my Son Paul Fourestier my best Diamond Ring and all my Latin Greek and Hebrew Books
Item I give and bequeath unto my said Son Paul Fourestier the Sum of one Hundred and Fifty Pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain
Item I give and bequeath unto my said Son Paul Fourestier and to his Heirs and Assigns forever all that my Messuage or Tenement wherein I now dwell with the Garden and appurtenances thereunto belonging and all that Messuage or Tenement with the Ground and appurtenances thereunto belonging now in the Occupation of Jeremy Botting
and also and all that Messuage or Tenement with the Ground and appurtenances thereunto belonging now in the Tenure or occupation of Charles Gray or his assigns which said two first mentioned Messuages or Tenements and Premises are Situate lying and being in the parish of Saint Alphage and the said last mentioned Messuage or Tenement and Premises are Situate lying and being in the parishes of Saint Mildred and Saint Mary de Castro or one of them in the aforesaid City of Canterbury

Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Esther Fourestier and her Heirs and assigns forever all that my Messuage or Tenement with the Buildings Lands and Hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging and appertaining and with the same usually Letten held occupied or enjoyed Situate Lying and being on the parish of Woodchurch in the County of Kent and now in the Tenure or occupation of Henry Wood or his assigns

Item after payment of my Debts Legacies Funeral Expences the charges of proving and Executing this my last Will and Testament and other Incident Charges I give and bequeath all the rest Residue and remainder of my Personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever unto my said Son and Daughter Paul Fourestier and Esther Fourestier that is to say
one Moiety or equal half part of the said Residue and Remainder of my Personal Estate to my said Son Paul Fourestier and the other Moiety or equal half part thereof to my said Daughter Esther Fourestier

and I do hereby order and direct that the Sum of Sixty Pounds a Year to be paid Expended and allowed to and for the Maintenance and Education of my said Daughter Esther Fourestier out of the Income of such part of my Real and Personal Estate as I have hereby given unto her until she shall attain her age of one and Twenty Years
and in Case my said Daughter Esther Fourestier should happen to die in my Life time or before she shall attain her age of one and Twenty Years without Leaving Issue of her Body lawfully begotten then and in either of the said Cases I give devise and bequeath my said Farm and Lands in Woodchurch aforesaid with its appurtenances and also the said Moiety or half part of the said Residue and remainder of my Personal Estate hereby given to her as aforesaid unto my said Son Paul Fourestier and to his Heirs Executors administrators and assigns forever

and in case my said Son Paul Fourestier having already attained his age of one and Twenty Years should happen to die in my Life time without Leaving Issue of his Body lawfully begotten then and in that Case I give devise and bequeath the said several Messuages or Tenements Lands Hereditaments and Premises in the said City of Canterbury and all such part of my Personal Estate as I have hereby given to him as aforesaid unto my said Daughter Esther Fourestier and to her Heirs Executors Administrators and assigns forever

and if it should happen that my said Son Paul Fourestier shall die in my Lifetime and that my said Daughter Esther Fourestier shall also Dye in my Life time or before she shall attain her age of one and Twenty Years and that there shall be no Child or Children of my said son or Daughter or either of them living at the time of the Decease of the Survivor of them as aforesaid Then I give and bequeath unto my Brother Francis Fourestier my said Sister Jane Fourestier and my Sister Marianne Bacheleux the Sum of Two thousand and Seven Hundred Pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain equally to be divided between them share and share alike

and further in case my said Son and Daughter shall both of them happen to Dye as aforesaid without leaving Issue of either of them as aforesaid then I give devise and bequeath all and every my said Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments hereinbefore mentioned with their and every of their appurtenances and all the said Rest and Residue of my Personal Estate unto the several persons and in the several parts and proportions hereafter mentioned that is to say one fourth part of my said Freehold Estate and of the said Rest and Residue of my Personal Estate I give devise and bequeath unto my Brother in Law Peter Legrand and to his Heirs Executors administrators and assigns if he shall be then living
and if he shall be then dead to all and every his Child or Children and to their Several Heirs Executors administrators and assigns forever equally to be divided between them share and share alike and to take as Tenants in Common and not as Joint Tenants
one other fourth part thereof I give devise and bequeath unto my Sister in Law Anne Loubert and to her Heirs Executors administrators and assigns if she shall be then living
and if she shall be then dead to her Child or Children and to their Several Heirs Executors administrators and assigns forever equally to be divided between them share and share alike and to take as Tenants in Common and not as Joint Tenants
one other fourth part thereof I give devise and bequeath unto the Child or Children of my late Brother in Law John Legrand deceased equally to be divided between them share and share alike and to take as Tenants in Common and not as Joint Tenants
and the remaining fourth part thereof I give devise and bequeath unto the Child or Children of my late Brother in Law Benjamin Legrand deceased equally to be divided between them share and share alike and to take as Tenants in Common and not as Joint Tenants

Item I make ordain Constitute and appoint my said Brother in Law Peter Legrand and my said Son and Daughter Paul Fourestier and Esther Fourestier Executors and Executrix of this my last Will and Testament
and I give and bequeath unto the said Peter Legrand the Sum of Ten Pounds in Consideration of his care and Trouble in the Execution and performance of this my Will
and Lastly I do hereby revoke and make void all former and other Wills by me at any time or times heretofore made and do make ordain publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof to this my last Will and Testament contained in three Sheets of Paper together annext I have to each Sheet Sett my Hand and to this last Sheet added my Seal this Twenty third day of July in the Sixteenth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith etc. and in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven Hundred and forty Two Paul Fourestier
