In the Name of God Amen the xxiiijth [24th] of Marche in the yeere of our lord God 1591(/2)
I Daniell Freinde of Aishe nexte Sandwch in the Countye of Kente yeoman beinge sicke in body but of whole and perfecte memory (for the w[hi]ch and all other benefites I give God most harty thancks) doe make and ordeigne this my last will & testament in manner & forme followinge
First and principally I bequeath my soule into the hands of our mercifull lord God the father and his sonne our only savyour Jesus Christe by whose mercy & onelye merritts I hope to be saved my body to be buried in Aishe Churche yarde And as touchinge all my goods

First I will & bequeath to the poore of the parishe of Aishe iijs iiijd to be devided by the collectors of the said parishe
I give & bequeath to Thomas Freinde my sonne xxli [£20] to be payde him at the adge of xxj yeres by my Executor
I give & bequeath to my three daughters Affry Freind; Margery Freinde & Clemmens Friende xli a peece [£10] to either of them at their severall ages of xxiiij yeres to be payd to them by my said executor

Allso my minde and will is that yf my wife be wth childe wither wth sonne or daughter that the said childe shall have when he or she cometh to the adge of xxti yeeres xli to be payd by my said executor

Provided allwayes and my Will & minde is that if any of my said children shall decease before they come to theire sevrall adges wch they ought to be paid that then the sayd parte or partes shalbe equally devided amonge the residue of my said children at their sevrall adges in the wch their other ptes shalbe due to them to be payd as aforesaid by my sayde Executor

All the Residue of my goods & Chattells unbequethed my debts and legacies payd I give to Anne Freind my wife
whome I make sole Executor of this my last will & testament
And Thomas Harfleete gentleman Ovearseer of the same

In Witnes whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seale Danyell Freinde

A Codicill annexed to the last will or testament of the said Danyell Freinde for the better explanacion of his true intent concerning the same the wch testator beinge in whole & perfect memory did uppon the xxvj [26] day of March in the yere of our Lord God according to the compuation of the Church of England 1592 openly declare & say in the p[rese]nce & hearinge of the Witnesses underwritten that his mynde & meaninge was that his children should be brought upp at the Chardgs of his Executor and further that if his wife happen to marry agayne that then she should put in sufficient assurance for the payment of his childrens portions
Witnesses hereof: Thomas Harflete; William Harfelte

Probatum fuit: 18th April 1592 - mentions Thomas Harflete and Willim Harflete

Daniell Freind was buried at St. Nicholas, Ash-next-Sandwich, Kent on 31 Mar 1592.
Danyell Friend married Anne Forte 19 Sep 1575 at Ash.
Their children (all bap. at Ash): Aphrye 1 Nov 1576; Margery 1 Feb 1578; Annys 4 Feb 1581; Thomas 8 Dec 1583; Clemyce 2 Jun 1588; Anne 10 Sep 1592.
