trenchers, a Spytt and the best dripping pann, A woollen wheele and lynnen wheele, a litle brandiron
Item I will and bequeath to Elizabeth the wife of Robert Hollamby, my daughter, a flockbed, the bedstead whereon Elizabeth Avis lyeth uppon, the boulster, two whittells, a old seeling over it, and a paire of sheets of canvas, one bras kettle which they have already, one iron pott, one pewter platter, a pewter dish, A Sawcer
I bequeath to Joane my daughter wife of Richard Curd Twentie shillings

paide to him by m Executor when he shall accomplysh the age of one and twentie yeares of age

And I bequeath to Walter Fry Senior my kinsman vjs viijd
The Residue of all my moveable goods and corne and cattell whatsoever, any debts and legacies paied and funerall expences discharged I whollie and fully give and bequeath to Edward Frye my sonne, whome I make and ordaine my whole sole executor of this my pnte testament and last will to see my debts paide and legacies payed and my bodie to be broughte honestly to the earth
And I institute and appointe William Moose of Peashurst [Penshurst] and Robte. Streatfield my brother of Spelhurst in the Countie of Kent Yeoman my trustie frendes to be my faithfull Overseers to see my last will and Testament pformed and duely executed And for their paines therein taken over and above all charges and expence in that behalf to either of them vs [5 shillings] a peece
This is the last will and Testament of me the saide Walter Fry made declared and set forth in writinge concerning the order and disposicon of all my lands tenements and hereditaments whatsoever scituate lienge and beinge in the seaverall parishes of Spelhurst and Penshurst in the County within written
Item I will and bequeath to Thomas Frie my sonne a Tenement called Karles in the occupacon of Jeremye Gilbard one barne closes and gardens orchards backside and shop And five pcells [parcels] of lande with appurtenancs [appurtenances] adjoyning to the same house together lienge in Spelhurst conteyninge estimation thirteene acres more or lesse, whereof fower of the saide pcells is called the Marles, And the other Sower crofte
Item I will and bequeath to the saide Thomas Frye my sonne thre pcells of lande and woode
with (the) appurtenancs in Spelhurst as it is now devided, whereof one peece is called Hasefield
Woode with two little orchards in it Seaveralled? with a bancke and a Rayle on the North syde, the
other two pcells of lande called Hasefield and Penfield as they are deinded, And one other pcell
called Ducks croft late purchased of Sr Thomas Smith To have and to hold the saide Tenement
barne and nine pcells of lande other the premisses with appurtenancs to the said Thomas Fry his
Heires and assignes to the onely use and behoof of the said Thomas Frie his heires and assignes for ever
with Provisall? hereafter followinge; That is to saie;
under condicon Provided alwaies that the saide Thomas Frie his heires and assignes shall and doe well and truely satisfie content and paie or cause to be paide to Anne my wief or to her assignes thre pounds vjs viijd [£3 6s 8d] of good and lawfull money of England yearely from yeare to yeare one after an other for and during the whole terme of life of her the saide Anne quarterly to be paied, vizt. at the feast or termes of yeare usually called Saint Michaell Archangell, Nativitie of Christ, Thannunciacon [The Annunciation] of Marie and St. John Baptist by equall porcons to be paied vizt. at every the saide feasts xvjs viijd [16s 8d]
And if the saide Thomas Frie his heires and assignes doe happen to make default in payment of the saide yerely rente of thre pounds vjs viijd or any parte or pcell thereof at any (of) the feasts in which it ought to be paied being lawfully demanded That then it shall and may be lawfull to the saide Anne or to her assignes the saide tennement barne and nyne pcells of lande with appurtenancs to Reenter and the same to holde reteyne and enjoy unto her owne use and behoofe untill the saide yearely rent of three pounds vjs viijd and the arrearages thereof be fully satisfied and paied and the said Thomas Frie his heries utterly to expell and amove, Anie thinge clause article sentence or bequest herein sounding menconed or expressed to the contrary in any wise notwithstanding
Provided alwayes and my will and intent is that Thomas Frie my sonne or his heires or assignes in
consideracon of the lande before to him bequeathed shall pay or cause to be contented
and paid to Elizabeth Avis daughter of Alice my daughter the somme of six poundes xiijs iiijd
of good and lawfull money of England when she shall accomplish the age of twentie yeares
And if the said Thomas Frie his heires and assignes shall default in paymente vjl xiijs iiijd
to the saide Elizabeth Avis as before limmitted That then it shall and may be lawfull to the saide
Elizabeth into the tenement and nine pcells of lande with appurtenncs before bequeasted
to Thomas Fry my sonne to Reenter and the same to hould reteyne and enioy to the use and behoof
of the said Elizabeth Avis untill she be satisfied and paied Anie thinge thereon before menconed to the contrary notwithstanding
Item I will and bequeath unto Edward Fry my sonne my capitall messuage in which I nowe dwell a barne orchard garden closes called Brigs and six peecs of lande and woode with the appurtenancs scituate lieng and being in Spelhurst aforesaid called or knowne by the name of Bridgeres, one pcell called greeneland late purchased of Sr Thomas Smith, one the other pcell called Hastfield Croft devided of from Hastfield
Item I bequeath to the said Edward Frie my smale tenement a barne newly built uppon parte of Haiselfield one forstall thereto adjoyninge one pcell of lande called Isgates scituate in Spelhurst aforesaide To have and to hould the saide capitall messuage and smale tenement and all other the premisses and lands before willed and bequeathed with appurtenancs to the saide Edward To the onely use and behoof of the saide Edward Frie his heires and assignes for ever, under condicon and with Proviso in theis pnts hereaftr following
Provided alwaies That Edward Frie his heires and assigns shall allow pmit and suffer Anne
my wife to have fier and sheete and housroome to brew and bake and doe her
worke in the same capitall messuage with free egres ingres and regres to the same at her election if any
Provided alwayes that Edward Frie his heires or assignes shall pay or cause to be paied to Anne
my wife or to her assignes shall pay thre pounds vjs viijd of good and lawfull money of
England yerely from yere to yere one after an other for and during the whole terme of the naturall life
of Anne my wife quarterly to be paied vizt.
at the feast or termes of yeare usually called Saint Michaell Archangell, Nativitie of Christ,

And if it shall happen the saide Edward Frie his heires or assignes shall make defalte in payment of the said iijl vjs viijd or
any parte or pcell thereof at any the feasts in which it ought to be paied and lawfully demanded That
then it shall and maye be lawfull to the saide Anne and her assignes into the saide capitall messuage
and smale tenement and ten pcells of lande the premisses and the appurtenancs before bequeathed to
the Edward Frie To reenter and the same to hould reteyne and enjoy to the use and behoof of
the said Anne And the saide Edward Frie his heries and assignes utterly from thence to remove and
expell till she be satisfied and paied, Anie thinge herein before mentioned to the contrary in any wyse notwithstanding
Item I will and bequeath to Edward Frie my sonne two acres of meadowe scituate in Penshurst late purchased of Thomas Moise, one pcell called farme croft conteyning one acre more or lesse likewise lienge in Penshurst aforesaide conteyning one acre mor or lesse, To have and to hould the saide two peecs of lande and forstall with all the purtenancs to the saide Edward Frie to the onely use and behoof of the said Edward his heires and assignes for ever, under condicon hereafter followinge (that is to saie)
that Edward Frie his heires and assignes shall pay or cause to be paied to Elizabeth Holmeby my
daughter her heires and assignes tenn pounds of good and lawfull money of England
in manner and forme following vizt. to be paid yerely during the space of two yeres next after my
decease five pounds a yere till it be payed, if default be made in payment of the said
five poundes a yeare, and legally demanded the saide Elizabeth Holmeby her heires and assignes to
Reenter uppon the saide thre pcells of lande with appurtenancs, and the same to hould reteyne and
enjoy to her use and behoof till she be satisfied and paied
And the said Elizabethe or her heirs or assignes uppon every receipte of five poundes a yeare to be
paied to enseale acquitannce for the discharge of the said Edward and of his heires, or else the
saide Edward to hould the money till she will seale acquitannce
