Also I give and bequeath unto my godson Edward Brock son of the said William Brock and Dorothea Maria his said wife one thousand pounds new four per cent Annuities one thousand seven hundred and eighty [1780?] transferred at the Bank of England to be paid or transferrable to him at his age of twenty one years but if he shall happen to die under age then I give and bequeath the said one thousand pounds Annuities unto the several persons and in the proportions manner and form following
that is to say one hundred pounds
Annuities part thereof I give and bequeath unto my Great Nephews William ffry John ffry Benjamin ffry
James ffry and Giles ffry sons of my Nephew William ffry of Chatham aforesaid Schoolmaster equally to
be divided between them their respective Executors and Admnrs share and share alike
ffifty pounds Annuities
other part hereof I give and bequeath unto William pure son of my late Sister Catherine Prirt (Price?)
deceased and to his Executors and Admnrs
ffifty pounds Annuities other part thereof I give and bequeath
unto my Niece Elizabeth the wife of Thomas Powell one of the Daughters of my late Sister Elizabeth Brock
deceased and to her Executors and Administrators
ffifty pounds Annuities other part hereof I give and
bequeath unto my Niece Mary Elond(?)[Cloud?] one other of the Daughters of my said late sister Elizabeth
Brock deceased and to her Executors or Admnrs
and seven hundred and ffifty pounds Annuities residue hereof
I give and bequeath unto the said William Brock and Dorothea Maria his Wife and the survivor of
them and to the Executors Admnrs and Assigns of such survivor to and for his her and their own use and
uses
and further my Will is that in case I shall not at my death have money in the said four per cent Annuities sufficient to answer and make good the said one thousand pounds as herein before bequeathed then I will and direct that they my said Executors shall and do in the first place lay out and purchase with the money arising out of my other personal Estate so much more in the said Annuities as will answer and make good the said one thousand pounds in the said Annuities and my Will is that the Dividends and Interest of the said one thousand pounds Annuities arising and becoming due from my Death until the said Edward Brock shall attain the said age of twenty one shall be received by my said Executors and that they shall and do apply the same or so much thereof as they shall think necessary in for or towards the Maintenance Education and Bringing up of the said Edward Brock until he shall attain the said age of twenty one Years provided always and my Will and mind further is that it shall and may be lawful to and for my said Executors in case they shall think fit to break in upon the said one thousand pounds Annuities or such part thereof as may be then standing in the said ffund and thereby and thereout and by sale of any part thereof not exceeding in the whole four hundred pounds to raise a sum of money as necessary and therewith to purchase the office or employment of a Clerk in His Majesty�s Dockyard at Chatham aforesaid to and for the said Edward Brock and cause and procure him to be appointed thereto or otherwise to pay or apply the same to and for the use and benefit of the said Edward Brock in such manner and at such time as they my said Executors shall think fit
I also give and bequeath unto the said Edward Brock my pint silver
mug six of my silver Tablespoons my silver Milk Pot six of my silver Teaspoons my silver Tea Tongs
(Trays?) my silver ��.my silver Salts and my silver Pepper Box all marked E H A my silver Marrow
Spoon my Gold Coral my silver Sop Boat my Childs silver p��.. Gold Lockett and my Necklace of
Coral Beads to be kept and preserved for him by my Executors during his Minority
Also I give and
bequeath unto the said Edward Brock my silver Watch with the stool chain (?) trinkets and appurtenances
thereto belong and therewith normally worn to be delivered to him at his age of fifteen years
Also I give
and bequeath unto the said Edward Brock all and every my household goods and implements of household
household Linen and China in and about my now Dwelling House and also my pair of ffine Holland Sheets
laced up the middle now in the Dwelling House of the said William Brock to be delivered to him the said
William Brock at his age of twenty one years
but if shall happen to die under that age then I give and
bequeath all and every the said pieces of plate and my said Watch and also all and every my said household
goods and Implements of household household Linen and China herein are given and bequeathed unto the
said Edward Brock unto them the said William Brock and Dorothea Maria his said wife and the survivor of
them and the Executors Administrators and Assigns of such survivor absolutely to and for his her and their
own use and uses provided always and my Will and mind is that the said William Brock and Dorothea
Maria his wife and the survivor of them shall and may if they or the survivor of them shall think proper sell
and dispose of all the said household goods and implements of household but not any of my plate
household Linen or China and convert the same into money during the minority of the said Edward Brock
and I do hereby direct my said Executors to consent thereto they the said William Brock and Dorothea
Maria his said Wife paying applying and disposing of all the money arising thereby in the same manner in
all respects as I have hereinbefore given and bequeathed the said household goods
Also I give and
bequeath unto my said Nephew William ffry the ffather the sum of one shilling of lawful money of Great
Britain
Also I give and bequeath unto my said Nephew William Price the Legacy or sum of ffifty pounds
of like money to be paid to him in manner and proportion and at the times following that is to say / ten
pounds part thereof within six months next after my decease and the sum of ten pounds at the End and
Expiration of every twelve months to be computed from the Expiration of the said six months until the
whole of the said Legacy or sum of ffifty pounds shall be fully paid and satisfied
But in case the said
William Price shall die before the whole or any part of the said Legacy shall by virtue of this my Will
become payable to him I then give and bequeath the said Legacy or such part thereof as shall not have
become payable unto my said Niece Mary Elond(?) absolutely to be paid to her by my said Executors in
one intire payment as soon as conveniently may be
Also I give and bequeath unto my said Niece Elizabeth
the Wife of the said Thomas Powell the sum of ten pounds of like money
Also I give and bequeath unto
the said Mary Elond(?) the sum of one hundred pounds of like money to be paid to her in manner and
proportions and at the times following that is to say / ffifty pounds part thereof within three months next
after my decease and ffifty pounds residue thereof within twelve months next after my decease
But in case
the said Mary Elond(?) shall happen to die before the whole or any part of the said Legacy shall by virtue
of this my Will become payable then I give and bequeath such part or parts thereof as shall not then have
become payable unto Elizabeth the wife of Benjamin Snow Daughter of the said Mary Elond(?) and Mary
Watson and the survivor of them and the Executors Administrators and Assigns of such survivor to and for
her and their own use and uses
Also I give and bequeath unto my Great Nephew James ffry the sum of
twenty pounds of like lawful money
Also I give and bequeath unto my said Great Nephew William ffry the
Son, John ffry Benjamin ffry and Giles ffry the sum of five pounds apiece of like lawful money
Also I give and bequeath all and every my wearing apparel and wearing linen of all sorts unto and equally
between my said Nephew William Price and the said Benjamin Snow share and share alike
Also I give
and bequeath unto the said John Dafforne and George Shirley the sum of ffive pounds apiece of lawful
money of Great Britain for their trouble in the Execution of this my Will
Also I give and bequeath all and
every the rest and residue of my ready money and Securities for Money Money in the Publick Stocks or
ffunds Leases and Leasehold Estates Goods Chattels and personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever and
of what nature or kind soever not herein before otherwise disposed of and my just Debts Legacies and
ffuneral Expenses being thereout first paid and satisfied unto the said William Brock and Dorothea Maria
his wife and the survivor of them and the Executors Administrators and Assigns of such survivor to and for
his her and their own use and I do hereby revoke and make void all former Wills and Codicils by me made
In Witness whereof I the said Edward ffry have to this my last Will and Testatment contained in
four sheets of paper to each sheet thereof set my hand and to this last my Seal dated the Day and Year first
above written Edward Fry
