In dei None Amen the viijth [8th] daye of februarye in the yere of or Lorde God 1548 [/49] And also in the seconnde yere of the Raigne of or most Sovraigne Lorde Edward the vjth kynge of England frannce and Ireland, Defendor of the faythe and in yerthe [Earth] Supreme hedd of the Churche of England and also of Ireland
I John Frynde of Wells in the p[ar]ish of Eastrye beinge of an [w]hole mynde and good Remembrannce (thanks be unto God) Ordeyne and make this p[rese]nte Testamente wherein ys Conteynid my Laste will in man[ne]r and forme as foloweth
Fryste I bequethe my Soule unto one God the father almightie creator of Hevyn and yerthe, to him the fruytion of his eternall Godhedd thoroughe the death and passion of his onelye Sonne Jhus Christe my Savyor and Redemor to reigne wt hymin etermall glorye wt his Angells and Saynts evrmore, And my bodye to be buried wtin the Churcheyarde of Eastry aforesayde

Item I gyve unto the poor people to be Delt wtin one monethe after my decease iijs iiijd
Item I bequethe unto the reparcons of the highe waye betwixt the well sole and gore vjs viijd wtin xij monethes after my decease
Item I bequethe to Agnes Holland one Cowe and vj ewes to be delyvered and payde unto her at the daye of her maryage
Item to Thomas Holland vj ewes to be dd [delivered] and payde unto hym at xxj yeres of his age
Item to Olyver Frend one busshell of barley
Item to Valentyne Frynd one busshell of barley wtin xij monethes after my decease

Item to Agnes xpain [Christian] and Alys the daughters of John Frynde my sonne, iij Ewes
Item I bequethe to Thomas Frynde my sonne x whethers shorne and a Cowe to be delyvryd wtin xij monethes after my decease
Item I bequethe to John Frynde my Sonne iij ewes to be delyrid in lyke manr
Item I bequethe to Rychard my Sonne xl [40] ewes and x lambes, to be delyvryd also in like manr

Also I ordayne and make Avyce my wyfe and John Frynde my Sonne my Executors of this my p'nte Testamente and laste will, they payinge and fulfillynge all the bequethes as is specyfied and contayingd in this my sayde testamente and will
And the sayde John Frynde my Sonne to have for his paynes in th't behalfe onelye ijs

And the Resydue of my goods moveables my detts and my bequethes payde, I gyve and bequethe unto Avyce my wyfe and to thuse [the use] of the same Alyce
Also I make Thomas my Sonne my ovrseer of this my will

Also thys ys the Laste will of me the sayde John Frynde made the daye and yere above written Concernyinge the disposicon of all and singuler my Tenem[en]ts and Lands lyinge and beinge wtin the pishe of Eastrye, Woodnesboroughe and Worthe,

Fyrste I will that Avyce my wyfe have the sayde ten'te and Land as afore specified and the p[ro]fytts of them to the sayde Avyce my wife (for the) terme of her lyfe naturall, And to have the toppyinges of the woods therupon Growynge for her p[erso]nell (use) and not to fell by the roote, excepte it be for the Repacons of the sayde howsynges

And after the Decease of Avyce my wyfe I will the sayde Tenemts at Wells and all the sayde my Lands above specyfied wt the apprtenncs [appurtenances] excepte and resyverd [reserved] my Lands that I bowghte of John Hogen and Peter Hogben to remayne unto John Frynde my Sonne

And after the decease of John Frynde my Sonne, I will that the sayde tenemente and Lands wt thapprtenncs (excepte above excepted) to Remayne to Thomas Frynde the Sonne of the sayde John my Sonne, and to thieres [the heirs] of his bodye Lawfully begotten, And for lacke of heires of the sayde Thomas of his bodye Laufullye begotten, to remayne to Danyell Frynde his brother and to his heires for evr

Also I will that the sayde Lands above excepted wt their apprtenncs (that I bowghte of thabove sayde John Hogen and Peter Hogben to remayne after the Decease of Avice my wyfe to Richard Frynde my Sonne (for the) terme of his lyfe, And after the Decease of the sayde Rychard, I will the x acres I bowghte of John Hoore to Olyver Frynde his Sonne and to his heires for evr
The Land that I boughte of Peter Hogben, to Remayne to John Frynde the Sonne of the sayde Richard Frynde and to his heires for evr

Also I will that John Frynde my Sonne and his heires paye unto Thomas Frynde my Sonne his brother wtin ij yeres after the decease of Avyce their mother vjli xiijs iiijd [£6 13s 4d], to be payde oute of the sayde Lands of John Frynde and Thomas his Sonne as above bequethed

Theise beynge witnes: Thomas Whitfelde; Thomas Chandelar; John Fawclye and Thomas Rychards
