In the name of God Amen The sixteenth day of May in the Fifth year of the reigne of Our Soveraigne Lord and Lady William and Mary King and Queen by the Grace of God over England Annoqz Dni 1693
I Jonah Fuller of Cranbrooke in the County of Kent yeoman being sick and weak but of a sound and perfect mind and memory (praised be God for the same) Doe make my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following (that is to say)

Imprimis I Give and bequeath unto my Sonn John Five shillings to be paid unto him within six months next after my Decease
Item I Give Devise and bequeath unto Thomas Fuller my sonn and to his Heires and Assignes for ever All those my Messuages or tenements and Dwellings with one Oate meale Mill Together with the yards gardens closes orchards backsides and premisses with their appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining scituate lying and being in the severall parishes of St Clements and All Saints in Hasting in the County of Sussex or in one of them To hold to the said Thomas Fuller my Sonn and to his Heires and Assignes for ever:

Whereas before marriage I Did Grant an Annuity of Thirty pounds per Annu[m] unto Elizabeth my now wife for and during the Terme of her naturall Life to be issuing and going out of the Lands called Bakers Crosse And in Confidence that my said wife will be kind to my Four Children Elizabeth Samuell Mary and Hannah I Doe hereby Give and Devise unto my said wife and her Assignes for and during the Terme of her naturall life and no longer the Rents Issues and profitts of all that messuage Farme Lands and premisses called Bakers Crosse with their appurtenances with all other the messuages Lands and Tenements to the same belonging or therewithall Letten used occupyed or enjoyed and scituate lying and being in Cranbrooke aforesaid (upon this Trust in her the said Elizabeth my wife reposed That after she be satisfied her said Annuity) do employ and bestow the overplus of the said rents of the said farme called Bakers Crosse for and towards the Education and bringing up of my Four children Elizabeth Samuel Mary and Hannah
and the said Overplus I Desire my said wife to employ with the Advice and approbation of the Overseers of this my Will and I will that my said wife shall upon request and demand made by the Overseers of this my Will Give a true and just accompt of the rents and profitts of the said premisses and how she has employed the same (to and for the good and benefitt of my said Children)

And from and after the Death of my said wife I do Give bequeath and Devise the said messuage Farme Lands and premisses called Bakers Crosse with all other the messuages Lands and Tenements to the same belonging and scituate lying and being in Cranbrooke aforesaid unto my son Samuel and his Heires To hold to him his Heires and Ass[igne]s for ever
Neverthelesse charged and chargeable with the severall summe and summes of money herein after mentioned and expressed and upon the provisoe herein after limited

Item I Give and bequeath unto my sonn Thomas and to his Heires and Ass[igne]s for ever One Annuity or yearly rent of Five pounds of lawfull mony of England to be issuing and going out of that messuage Farme Lands and premisses called Bakers Crosse and all other the messuages Lands and Tenements to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining and scituate lying and being in Cranbrooke aforesaid To have levy and recieve the said Annuity or yearly rent of Five pounds unto the said Thomas Fuller his Heires and Assignes payable yearly unto the said Thomas Fuller his Heires or Ass[igne]s in or upon the Feast Days of St John the Baptist St Michael th’Archangell the birth of Our Lord God and th’annunciation of the blessed virgin Mary by even and equall portions The first payment to begin and to be made in and upon such of the said Feast Dayes as shall first happen after the said Samuel shall enter into and upon the aforesaid premisses called Bakers Crosse And if it shall happen the said Annuity or yearly rent of Five pounds or any part thereof to be behind or unpaid by the space of One and Thirty Days next after any or either of the said Feast Dayes on which the same ought to as aforesaid That then and from thenceforth it shall and may be lawfull to and for the said Thomas my sonn his Heires and Ass[igne]s into the said messuage Farme and Lands called Bakers Crosse or into any other the messuages lands and Tenements thereto belonging or into any or every part thereof to enter and distraine for the said Annuity soe being behind (with the Arreareages thereof) and the Distresse and Distresses then and there taken the same to impound detaine and keep untill the said rent so being behind with the arrearages thereof and all Costs and Damages sustained for non payment thereof be fully satisfied and paid

Item I Give and bequeath unto my three Daughters Elizabeth Mary and Hannah and to each and every of them One hundred pounds apiece of lawfull money of England to be payd unto them and every and each of them within three months next after the Death of Elizabeth my wife
And my Will and mind is And I Doe hereby order charge and appoint that my said sonn Samuel or his Heires shall well and truly pay to each and every of my said Daughters Elizabeth Mary and Hannah One hundred pounds apiece out of my said messuage Farme and Lands called Bakers Crosse and other messuages lands and premisses thereto belonging scituate lying and being in Cranbrooke aforesaid And further my will and mind is That if my said sonn Samuel or his Heires doe or shall refuse or neglect to pay to my said Daughters or to each or any or every of them the said One hundred pounds apiece given to them in and by this Will according to the true intent and meaning thereof That then it shall and may be lawfull to and for my said Daughters all or any of them being unpaid their severall Legacyes of One hundred pounds to enter into and upon the aforesaid messuages Farme and Lands called Bakers Crosse or upon other the messuages thereto belonging and to recieve and take the rents issues and profitts thereof or to make a Distresse or Distresses and the same to keep and impound untill the said One hundred pounds apiece given to my said Three Daughters Elizabeth Mary and Hannah together with all Costs and Damages Sustained for non payment thereof shall be recd and had by each and every of them according to the true intent of this my Will

And further to my Will and meaning is That if any or either of my said Three Daughters shall happen to Dye before her or their said Summe of One hundred pounds become due and payable Then I Doe hereby will and appoint That the part and portion of the money of her or them so dying shall be equally paid and Divided between Thomas Fuller and Samuel Fuller my Sonns and the Survivor or Survivors of my said Three Daughters and to be paid such time and times and in such manner and forme as is before in this my Will mentioned and expressed

Provided allways neverthelesse and it is the true intent and meaning of this my Will That if my said Sonn Samuel shall happen to dye without Lawfull Issue of his body before he attaine the age of One and Twenty years that then and in Such case I Doe hereby (from and after the Death of Elizabeth my wife) give and bequeath and devise the aforesaid messuage Farme and Lands called Bakers Cross and other the messuages lands and tenements thereto adjoyning with their appurtenances and scituate lying and being in Cranbrooke aforesd unto John and Thomas my Sonns and to their Heires and Assigns Nevertheless Subject to and lyable for payment to each and every of my said Three Daughters Elizabeth Mary and Hannah the summe of One hundred and Fifty pounds apiece of lawfull money of England on the Day and time on which the before mentioned summes of One hundred pounds given to each and every of my said Daughters ought to have been paid (if the said Samuel my sonn should have lived) And I Doe hereby order charge and appoint That my said sonns John and Thomas and their Heires shall pay out of the aforesaid messuage Farme and Lands called Bakers Crosse and the other messuages and Premisses thereto belonging to each and every of my said Daughters Elizabeth Mary and Hannah the said Summe of One hundred and Fifty pounds apiece with power for my said Daughters and every or any of them to enter into and upon all and singular to the aforesaid premisses and recieve the rents and profitts thereof and distraine for the same untill the said respective Summes of One hundred and fifty pounds given to each and every of my said Daughters (together with Costs and Charges concerning the same) shall and may be levyed recieved and had (Any thing before in this my Will contained to the Contrary thereof in any wise notwithstanding)

And further my Will and mind is That if my said sonn Samuel shall dye without lawfull issue of his body before he attaine his age of One and Twenty yeares That then and in such case the aforesaid Annuity of Five pounds given to my Sonn Thomas and his Heires out of the aforesaid messuages Farme and Lands with their appurtenances called Bakers Crosse shall cease determine and be utterly void to all intents and purposes.

All my Goods Cattell Chattells personall Estate and Housholdstuffe and Implements of Houshold Bills Bonds Mortgages or other securities for money I Give and bequeath unto Elizabeth my wife whom I make Constitute and ordaine Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testamt and whom I Desire to pay my Debts Legacyes and Funerall Expences and duly and truly to performe this my last Will and Testament according to my true intent and meaning

Item I make desire and appoint Mr Thomas Cruttender [Cruttenden] of Cranbrooke Apothecary and John Edmott of Cranbrooke aforesaid Clothier Overseers of this my Will and to be aiding and assisting to my Executrix in the management of the same and as a Token of my Love I Give to either of them Tenn shillings apiece to buy rings

And lastly I renounce all Wills by me formerly made and Declare this to be my last In Testimony whereof I the said Jonah Fuller to this my last Will and Testament being written in Five sheets of paper to each sheet have sett my hand and to the last my Seale the Day and year first above written Jonah Fuller

Jonah Fuller was baptised 7 December 1625, Saint Clements, Hastings, Sussex, the son of Doegood Fuller. He was buried 31 May 1693, Cranbrook, Kent.
He married: 1. Alice Foster 5 May 1663, Cranbrook, Kent; and 2. Elizabeth Wilson 28 July 1674, Brenchley, Kent.
Doegood Fuller was baptised 14 August 1597, Heathfield, the son of Thomas Fuller. He married Elizabeth Swan 27 April 1620, Burwash.
Doegood Fuller, Housekeeper, was buried 23 December 1628, Hastings.
