1st I do desire that I be decently buried and that my funeral expences may be immediately discharged
And when all my just debts are paid I bequeath in the following manner viz
To my son Thomas Gates of Seal in the County of Kent
To my eldest daughter Mary Ann Collins of Rugby in Warwickshire
To my youngest daughter Jane Gates of Sevenoaks in the County of Kent
2nd I leave the whole of my Funded Property or Monies of any description that may be in the house at the time of my decease together with any Monies that may be due or owing unto me The whole to be equally divided among my three children share and share alike
3dly to my eldest daughter Mary Ann Collins the Tea Spoons (now in use)
4thly I wish all my Household Furniture & Linen left at my decease to be valued and the same to be equally
divided among my three Children as before mentioned
and hereunto I ascribe my name and set my seal this the second day of August one thousand eight hundred and twenty four _
