In the name of God Amen in the yere of our Lorde God [1549] the 12th daye of the monithe of February in the yere and Raygne of our Sovereygne Lorde Kinge Edward the Sixte and feste years of his Reigne
I Roger Gatther other wise called Roger Cooke of Biddenden beyng hole of mynde and good of memorie praysed for to Almightie God make this my testament and laste will in maner and forme followinge
First I bequeth my soule to almightie god my bodie to be buried in the churche yard of Biddenden aforesaid

Item First I bequeth to Thomas my sonne xxli of good and lawfull money of England to be paid to the said Thomas at the aged of xxiiij yeres and I will that the said xxli be put out to the beste profitt of my sonne Thomas

Item I bequeth to Julian my daughter 20 markes of good and lawfull money of England and at the age of 22 yeres or ellse at the daye of her marriage yf she fortune to marrie before thage of 22 yeres and also I will the said 20 markes be put out to for her to the beste profitt for her owne use

Item I will have given at my own beriall to xl power [poor] folkes every of them iiijd and also at my monithes daye to xl power folkes every of them iiijd

Item I will to Simon Hamptons children and Nicholas Thomas children every of them xiid
Item I bequeth to Robert Belsett vis viijd
Item I bequeth to Jane Kowkowe and everiche? in the howse xiid

Item I will that yf Thomas or Julian my daughter do departe out of this world before the agies expressed That then I will the said money Remayne to the other so lyving with the profett thereof

Item I will that this money be delvered at mychelmas next commyng by myne Executrixe and by the counsell of Thomas Stace And they that shall have this money to be bounde in Landes for there assurance for the profitt of my children

And I will that Marione my Wyfe be myne Executrix and Thomas Stace? my overseer of this my last will shall bestowe this pcelle of money that is to saye the fyfty markes uppon handes to the use of my children Thomas and Julian and that the said Thomas Stace for to Receve the profitts of the same Landes and to be couintable to the said children at the age of the said Thomas my sonne of xxiiij yeres and to the age of the said Julian of xxij yeres or else at the day of her mariage

Item I bequeth to Marion my Wyf all the residue of my goods and cattalls not bequethed whom I make and ordeyne myn Executrix And to Thomas Stace Overseer of this my last will To whom I do give for his paynes takyng xxs
