The second day of August Anno dini 1630 In the name of God Amen
I Nicholas George of Bethersden in the County of Kent husbandman being Sick in body but of Good and p’fect [perfect] remembrance God be praysed doe make This my last will and Testamt. [Testament] in manner and forme following, vizt.
First and principally I comitt and comend my Soule to Almighty God my maker and redeemer and my body to be buried in the pishe [parish] Churchyarde of Bethersden afore said

Item I give and bequeath unto Edward George my sonne my manision house [mansion] lands and p’misses [premises] thereunto belonging Scituate ling and being in Bethersden afore said

Item I give unto my two daughters Lidia George and Alice George equally to be devided betweene them one field or p’cell [parcel] of land called Hodes field togeather with all the woods profits and Comodities thereunto belonging Containing in all by estimacon Six acres or thereaboutes be it more or lesse

Item my will and minde is that Rebecca now my wife during her naturall life shall have hold and enjoy all and singuler my said house lands and premisses wth [with] their appurtenances makeing none noe spoyle nor wast of the woods now standing growing or being or which hereafter shall stand grow or bee in and upon the p’misses

Item I give and bequeath unto Rebecca my said wife (whome I make sole executrix of this my last will and Testament) all my goods and Chateells moveable and unmoveable, my funerall expences being first paid and discharged

Item I make and ordaine Edward Chute of Bethersden afore said my Overseer or Supravisor [Supervisor] of this my said last will and Testament to see the same executed and p’formed according (to) the true intent and meaning thereof

In Witnes whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seale the day and yeare first above written
Nicholas George his marke

In the p’sence of Edward Childs his marke - Richard Rich his marke - Francis Smith

probatum fuit: 14th April 1631.

Notes:
Nicholas George was buried at St. Margaret, Bethersden on 24th January 1630.
Nicholas George was christened 3rd June 1556, s. of Richard George, at Bethersden
Nicholas George married Rebecka Cutberde 25th April 1612 at Bethersden.
Their children (all christened at Bethersden):
20-Feb 1614 Richard; 26-Mar 1615 Lidia; 26-Jul 1618 Alce (Bu.: 19 Jan 1630); 25-Nov 1621 Sarah (Bu.: 27 Jan 162(2); 01-Feb 1623 John (Bu.: 22 Nov 1624); 15-Jan 1625 Nicholas (Bu.: 10 Mar 1627); 21-Feb 1629 Edward.
Widow Rebeccah George re-married on 3rd May 1632 to John Willard, at Bethersden. Both were otp.
