Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary wife of Nathan Hickwell Junr. the sume of one hundred pounds of lawfull English money as a Further addition to her portion already received to be paid by myne Executors within one yeare next after my decease if she soe long live
Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth George the sume of two hundred pounds of lawfull English money to be paid unto her by myne Executors when she shall attaine unto the age of one and twenty yeares or at her day of marriage which shall first happen provided if she marry with consent of my said Executors
Item I give and bequeath unto my sonne Thomas George the summe of foure hundred pounds of like lawfull money to be paid unto him by my said Executors at his age of one and twenty yeares
Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Ann George the sum of two hundred pounds to be given unto her when she shall attaine unto the age of one and twenty yeares or at her day of marriage which shall first happen provided if she marry with consent of my said Executor as above said
And my further Will and pleasure that dureing the minority of my those younger Children Elizabeth Thomas and Ann That for their better maintenance and education my said sonne shall have yearly two and thirty pounds. And my said daughters two and thirty pounds more to be equally devided betweene them as the yearly interest and increase of their portions above menconed the same to be paid by my said Executors so long as their said porcons shall remaine in their custody
Item I give and bequeath unto my beloved Wife Elizabeth George all her wearing apparell both Linnen
and Wollen, and doe make and constitute my said wife and Sonne Richard George ioynt [joint]
Executors of this my last will and testament
And doe give and bequeath unto them (my debts Legacies and Funerall expences being discharged) all the remainder of my goods and
chattells whatsoever to be equally devided when my said sonne Richard George shall attaine unto the age of one and twenty years
Provided that if my said wife shall happen to dye before the devision made Then my will and pleasure is That my said daughters Elizabeth and Ann shall have each of them one hundred pounds more to be paid unto them by my Executors as abovesaid, and that my sonns Richard and Thomas shalbe ioynt Executors of this my last will and testament and shall equally share the estate then remaining accounting the fower hundred pounds bequeathed to my sonne Thomas as abovesaid as part of the estate to be devided
which said devision to be made when my said sonne Thomas shall attaine the age of one and
twenty years or at any time before If my Brother Giles Fowle Mr. William Barham and Richard Hepworth shall think soe fitt
unto who ioynt care I comend the oversight of this my will and testament and disposall of my affaires either for
continuance of my younger childrens porcons in the hands of my Executors or other disposall of them as
in their judgements shall seeme best for the good of my said younger Children
and unto the said Giles Fowle Mr. William Barham and Richard Hepworth I give and bequeath the sume of two and twenty
shillings apeece to buy each of them a ring
Item my further will and pleasure is that if my said wife shall marry againe within tenn yeares next after my decease that imediatly upon her said marriage she shall cease to be Executrix and have in stead thereof fower hundred pounds of lawfull English money a good serviceable house a Cow and a Bedd furnished and my sonne Thomas to be ioynt Executor on the termes above specified
And lastly my will and pleasure is that if any of my Children shall happen to dye before their severall ages for receipt of their porcons as above said That then such porcon or porcons shalbe equally devided betweene my other Children that survive.

Notes:
Richard George “of Kents-hill”, Wittersham, was buried at St. John the Baptist, Wittersham on 10th November 1649.
Richard George 20, Ba., Yeoman of Wittersham, married Elizabeth Reader, 20, Sp. of Ulcombe at Ulcombe on 7th November 1626.
Their known children (all christened at St. Mary the Virgin, Ebony):
6 Jul 1628 Marie; 30 Jan 1629 Richard; 12 Dec 1630 Elizabeth;
Daughter Mary George (Marie) married William Hickwell according to the Will, but it must have been
during the Commonwealth, as no such marriage has been found.
Son Thomas George and daughter Ann George’s christenings are not found in Kent or Sussex.
* Ebony is located some 5 miles south of Tenterden, and not far from Wittersham. Richard George was actually buried at Wittersham and not at “Ebbony” as he had requested in his Will.
