In the name of God Amen the twentieth Day of September in the six and Thirtieth yeare of the Raigne of our Soveraigne Lord Charles the Second by the grace of God of England Scotland France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith etc. Anno Dini 1684.
I Elizabeth George of Faversham in the County of Kent Widow being sicke and weake in body but of sound and p�fect minde memory and understanding praised be God therefore doe make and ordaine this my present last will and Testament in manner following
First and principally I resigne up my Soule into the hands of Almighty God my Creator hopeing and assuredly trusting to receive forgiveness of all my sinnes only in and through the meritorious death and passion of my alone Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ and my body to be decently interred in the Churchyard of the Parish Church of Sittingbourne in the said County as neer the grave of my first husband Henry Butler there as may be and as for that part and porcon of worldly goods which it hath pleased God of his inifinte bounty to bestowe upon me I give devise and bequeath the same in manner hereafter expressed

Item I give and devise unto my daughter Elizabeth Butler all those my landes conteining eight and twenty acres more or less with the appurtenances lying and being in the severall parishes of Lenham and Milkstead [Milstead] in the said County of Kent which I late purchased of my Brother George Allen or of his assignes To have and to hold the said lands and premises with the appurtenances unto my said Daughter Elizabeth Butler and to her heires for ever

Also I give and bequeath unto my said Daughter Elizabeth the Sume of One hundred and Forty pounds of lawfull English money to be paid unto her att her age of one and twenty yeares or Day of Marriage which shall first happen Also I give unto my said Daughter ten broad pieces of gold and tenn shillings more which I have of hers in my keeping and a broad box of Firr ? with the plate and all that is in it now standing in the chamber where I lye and also a Firr Chest and all that is therein now standing in the best Chamber of my dwelling houseand one trunk marked with S:B and all that is contained in the said trunk and all my wearing apparrell both linnen and woollen

Item I give and bequeath unto my only Sonn John Henry Butler a red sea Chest and all that is in it now Standing in my Lodgeing rooms and the broad box in the aforesaid best ? Chamber with all contained in the said box

and the rest of my goods and Chattells I will shall be sold for the raiseing of my aforesaid Daughters porcons and for my Funerall charges

and my will and desire is that if either of my said Children dye and departe this naturall life before they attaine their respective ages of one and twenty yeares of be married that then the porcons of him or her so dyeing shall come and bee paid to the Survivor

and of this my present last will and Testament I doe hereby nominate and appointe my aforesaid two Brothers George Allen and William Allen Executors earnestly entreating them to bee carefull in the due performance of this my last will and Testament

In Witness whereof I the said Elizabeth George have to this my last will and Testament Sett my hand and Seale the day and yeare first above written

Elizabeth George was buried 23 August 1689 at Sittingbourne
Thomas George, Yeoman, Widower of Monkton married Elizabeth Butler, Widow of Borden 19th March 1677 at St. Mary Bredin, Canterbury.

Elizabeth�s first marriage was 13 Sep 1666 at Sittingbourne to Henry Butler, Mariner, Widower. She was Elizabeth Allen, singlewoman of Borden.
The known children of Henry and Elizabeth Butler: Elizabeth Butler 23 Mar 1670; John Butler 24 Sep 1667 - both at Sittingbourne.
