In the Name of God Amen
I Jane George late of Feversham in the County of Kent Widow but now a Lodger in the Liberty of the Rolls* in the County of Middlesex being of sound and perfect Mind Memory and Understanding praised be God doe make and ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following (that is to say)
First and principally I commit my Soul into the hands of Almighty God hoping to obtain Forgiveness of all my Sins through the Meritts and Mediation of Jesus Christ my only Saviour and Redeemer And my Body I commit to the Earth to be decently buryed by my Executors hereafter named
And as for all and singular my temporal real and personal Estate of what nature or kind so ever and wheresoever I give devise and dispose as follows, vizt.

Whereas I did by Indenture Grant Conveyance or Deeds in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and Eighteen Give Grant release and convey unto William Thomas of Hackney in the County of Middlesex Merchant and Stephen Smith now or late of Feversham afforesaid Hosier All that my full Moyety [Moiety] or half part of that Farme Messuage or Tenement called Sewards with the Orchard and Outhouses thereto belonging and about one hundred and Twenty Acres of Meadow arable pasture Woodlands and Appurtenances thereunto belonging and a Cottage with two Closes or Feilds thereunto adjoining which said Lands and premisses are or lately were in the possession of Thomas Feakins or his undertenants in trust for and to the only and proper sole use and benefitt of my daughter Jane the Wife of James Hussey late of Uxbridge in the County of Middlesex Gentleman and to and for her separate use soe as her said Husband should not intermeddle therewith and to her heirs and assigns for ever
Which sd. Indenture or Deed of Trust in part above mentioned and recited is in the possession of Walter Jones of Feversham in the County of Kent Gentleman locked up in a Trust or Box set that I cannot fully recite and expresse the same

now my Mind and Will is And I doe hereby ratifye and confirm the said Deed and all things therein contained in as full and ample a manner as if the same were herein particularly expressed and menconed [mentioned] And my Mind and Will is And I doe hereby give devise and bequeath the said Farme Messuage Lands and Tenements Cottage and other premisses with the Appurts. [Appurtenances] in the sd. above in part recited Indenture menconed And also all those two or three Closes or Feilds of pasture or arable Land called or known by the name of the Little Cross in the parish of Lingstead [Linsted] in the said County now or late in the tenure possession or occupation of the Lord Tenham his Tenants or Undertenants And alsoe all and singular other my Lands Tenements and Hereditaments in possession or Reversion whatsoever and wheresoever unto the said Walter Jones and William Wigholme of Furnivalls Inne* in the County of Middlesex Gentlemen and their heirs and assigns forever In Trust for and to the Sole use and benefitt of my said daughter Jane (soe as her Husband shall not intermeddle therewith) and to her heirs and assigns for ever

Item my Will and Mind is that it shall and may be lawfull to and for my said daughter Jane by any Deed or by her last Will and Testament duely attested by three credible Witnesses to Grant Convey bequeath dispose and devise the said Lands and premisses with the Appurts. [Appurtenances] above menconed and all other Lands Tenements and Hereditaments whatsoever as my said daughter Jane shall think fitt

Item I give unto the said Walter Jones and William Wigholme the sume of Five pounds apeice for their trouble in takeing upon them the Trust in them hereby reposed

Item I give unto the said Walter Jones and William Wigholme all and Singular my Bonds Mortgages Debts Notes and other Securities for money of what nature or kind soever and all the plate Rings Jewells household goods and Furniture and all other my personal Estate of what nature or kind soever In Trust for and to the sole benefitt and advantage of my said daughter Jane and to be had gotten received Sued for recovered and disposed or as the said Trustees shall be directed by my said daughter Jane upon receipt of which or any Sum or Sums whatsoever or by the Disposal of all or any part of my said personall Estate or by the receipt of the Rents and profitts of my said real Estate I do hereby order and my Mond and Will is that it shall and may be lawfull to and for the said Trustees to give proper Discharges and Releases for the same And my Mind and Will is that a Receipt and Discharge by my said Daughter shall be a sufficient and Legal Discharge and Release to the said Trustees

Item I doe hereby make constitute and appoint the said Walter Jones and William Wigholme Executors and Trustees of this my last Will and Testament revoking all other and former Wills by me heretofore made But in Case any Action Suit trouble or other matter or thing whatsoever shall at any time hereafter be had brought sued or concerned by any person or persons whatsoever against the said Walter Jones and William Nigholme their Heirs Executors and Administrators for or by reason of any matter cause or thing whatsoever herein above contained in their sd. Trust that then my Mind and Will is that my said Trustees shall and may retain out of the Rents and profitts of all and singular my real Estate or otherwise that it shall and may be lawfull to and for my said Trustees and their heirs to grant bargain sell and convey all and singular my said real Estate to any person or persons and his her and their heirs and assigns for ever

And also to dispose to dispose and sell all and singular my personall Estates and to retain and to keep in their hands all and singular Sum and Sums of money and other debts in any wise due and owing to me the better to keep harmless and indemnifyed my said Trustees and their Lands Tenements Goods and Chattells that shall or may in any Wise accrue arise or happen to the said Trustees for or by reason of their or either of their acting in the abovesaid Trust and of and from all Costs Charges and Damages that the said Trustees shall or may sustain or be put unto for or by reason of the aforesaid trust

And lastly I doe hereby Will that the said Walter Jones and William Wigholme shall be allowed and paid all their reasonable and necessary Charges in the Execucon [Execution] of their said Trust in this my last Will and Testament

Notes:
Jane George, Widow, was buried at St. Mary of Charity, Faversham on 13th October 1721.
John George, Ba., Farrier of Canterbury married Jane Preston, Widow of Preston-next-Faversham, on 11th September 1674 at St. Mary of Charity, Faversham.
Their known children, all christened at All Saints, Canterbury:
12 Oct 1675 John; 3 Nov 1677 William; 15 Apr 1679 Edward; 6 Apr 1688 Jane.
James Hussey & Jane George were married 5 Feb 1717 at Preston-Next-Faversham.

* The Liberty of the Rolls in Middlesex was part St. Dunstan in the West and part of the City of London and was where the power of the King was given to a “mesne lord” – i.e. one holding from a superior Lord (in this case, by the King).
Furnival's Inn was an Inn of Chancery which formerly stood on the site of the present Holborn Bars building
