In the Name of God Amen The 15 day of August in the year of our Lord God 1734.
I Thomas George of the Parish of Chartham in the County of Kent Yeoman being very sick and weake of Body but of perfect mind and Memory thanks be Given to God I do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following, that is to say
First and Chiefly I give My Soul into the Hands of Allmighty God who Gave it me and my Body I Commend to the Earth to be Decently buryed in Christian buryal at the Discretion of my Executor – nothing Troubling – but att the General Resurrection I shall Receive the same againe by the mighty power of God
As touching (all my) Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me I Give Devise bequeath and Dispose (of) the same in manner and form following

Item I Give to my Loving Wife Mary George the Tine? [tithes?] of the George house and thereunto belonging Likewise the tine? house and all there unto belonging Except that Peice or Parcel of Land Called the Brooks Laying in the Parish of Chilham During the Life of the said Mary George and after her Decease to Return to Edward George her Son and to his Ayers (Heirs!] for Ever

Item I Give and bequae [bequeath] unto my Son Edward George all the Courtlodg(e) Farme of the Manner [Manor] of Chartham holding from the Church of Canterbury [Cathedral?] with All the Lands there unto belonging whome I Make my Full and (W)hole Executor and I do hereby utterly Disalow Revoke and Anul All and every Other former testaments wills Legacies
Ratifying and Confirming this and None Other to be my Last will and Testament

In Witness whereof I have her unto Set my hand and Seale the Day of the year “a bove” written

July the Eighth 1735 before the Reverend James Henstridge Clerk Surrogate and so forth in the presence of us R. Dickons Notary Publick This Will was proved by the Oath of Edward George Son of the deceased and sole Executor herein named to whom Administration of the Debts & Goods was committed he being sworn duly to administer the same.

Notes:
Thomas George was buried at St. Mary, Chartham on 26th August 1734.
Thomas George married Mary Mitchel on 13th October 1698 at SS Cosmos & Damian, Blean. Thomas was of St. Martin, Canterbury at marriage; Mary was of Chartham.
Their known children – christened as given:
2 May 1700 Nicholas – at St. Mary, Chartham;
Born 15 Mar 1702 Ann; 17 Mar 1702(3) Mary; 25 Apr 1706 Thomas; 18 Sep 1707 Edward – all at St. Martin, Canterbury.
