In the Name of God Amen
I William George Shipwright of the Parish of Chatham in the County of Kent being in bodily health and of sound and disposing mind and memory and considering the perils and dangers of the Seas and other uncertainties of this transitory life do for avoiding controversies after my decease make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner following (that is to say)
First I recommend my Soul to God that gave it and my Body I commit to the Earth or Sea asit shall please God to order
And as for and concerning all my Worldly Estate I give bequeath and dispose thereof as followeth (that is to say)

To my dearly beloved Wife Sarah George all my all my Estate and Effects whatsoever after paying the Sum of fifty pounds unto my Daughter Susanah Mary George Daughter of William and Mary George Wages Sum and Sums of Money Lands Tenements Goods Chattels and Estate whatsoever as shall be any ways due owing or belonging unto me at the time of my decease I do give devise and bequeath the same unto

And I do hereby nominate and appoint my Wife abovesaid Sarah George whole and sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former and other Wills Testaments and Deeds of Gifts by me at any time heretofore made And I do ordain and ratify these presents to stand and be for and as my only last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof to this my said Will I have set my hand and seal the seventeenth day of July in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty And in the twentieth year of the reign of his Majesty King George the third over Great Britain

This Will was proved at London the thirtieth day of August in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eight one before the Worshipful Andrew Colter Ducarel Doctor of Laws Surrogate ot the Right Worshipful Peter Calvert Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oath of Sarah George Widow the Relict of the deceased and sole Executrix named in the said Will to whom Administration was granted of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased She having been first sworn duly to Administer.

Notes:
William George was buried at St. Mary, Chatham, 21st August 1781.
Mary George, William’s first Wife, was buried at Chatham on 13th April 1779.
William George, Ba., otp., married Mary Peen, Widow, otp., on 19th October 1759 at The Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Sexburgha, Minster-in-Sheppey. Wit.: Joh. Ansell, Edward Waterman.
Their children (all Chr. at St. Mary, Chatham):
20-Jan 1762 William; 13-Jan 1765 Mary; 31-Jan 1768 Susannah Mary.
William George, widower & Sarah Teale, spinster, both of this parish married by banns 17 Jul 1780 (the date of this will) at Saint Dunstan In The East,London. Samuel Teale and Mary Teale were witnesses.
