Notes:
Edward George was buried on 26th April 1810 aged 69, “Esquire of Statenborough” at St. Mary the Blessed Virgin, Eastry.
Edward George was christened 19th August 1740, s. of Edward and Elizabeth George at St. Mary, Reculver.
He had two brothers: 06-Apr 1742 Robert; 10-Apr 1744 Thomas, both christened at Reculver.
Edward George (senior) married Elizabeth Denn, Widow, both of Reculver, on 25th May 1727 at St. Mary Magdalen, Canterbury. There are no children found until 1740 – perhaps he was overseas?

Edward George (of this Will) married at St. Mary the Blessed Virgin, Eastry on 14th December 1790 to Mary Reynolds. He was: Ba., otp., Gentleman. She was: Minor, Sp., of St. Clement, Sandwich. Her Mother Mary Reynolds consents (her father John Reynolds being dead). Witnesses were James George and (mother) Mary Reynolds. (Where Ba = bachelor; Sp. = Spinster, and otp. = of this parish.)
Mary George, Widow, was buried at Eastry on 5th May 1820, aged 50. Mary George was living in Sandwich at the time of her death.

The estate of Statenborough, next Eastry, has a page-length entry in Edward Hasted’s “History and Topography of the County of Kent”, in the 2nd Edition, circa 1800.
