I give devise and bequeath all those my two new built Messuages or Tenements Gardens & Appurts. [Appurtenances] thereunto belonging situate lying & being in Broad Street in the Borough of Longport in the Parish of St. Paul aforesaid & now in the occupation of me the said John George and Elizabeth Franklin Widow and which I hold under a Mortgage Title for the residue of a certain Term of five hundred Years unto my loving Wife Anne George & her assigns for & during the Term of her natural life if she shall so long continue my widow and unmarried
and from & immediately after her decease or marriage again which shall first happen I give devise & bequeath the said two Messuages or Tenements with the Appurts. (sic) unto my four Children Edward George Thomas George Ann Longley the Wife of Thomas White Longley and Lydia Burrell the Wife of William Burrell to be equally divided between them share & share alike and to their respective Exors. Admors. [Executors, Administrators] and Assigns
Also I give & bequeath all the rest and residue of my Estate and Effects of what nature or kind soever and wheresoever after & subject to the payment of my Just debts Funerall Expences the Charges of proving this my Will and other incident Charges unto my said Wife Ann George for & during the term of her natural life or during so long time as she shall continue my widow and unmarried
and from & immediately after her decease or marriage again which shall first happen I give and bequeath the same and every part thereof unto my said four Children Edward George Thomas George Ann Longley and Lydia Burrell to be equally divided between them share & share alike and to their respective Executors Admors. (sic) & Assigns
And I do hereby nominate constitute & appoint my said Wife Ann George and my Friend James Finch of
the City of Canterbury Corn Chandler Executrix & Executor of this my last Will & Testament by me made
And lastly hereby revoking all former Wills & Testaments by me made I declare this only to be my last

Testament (in two sheets of paper contained) set my hand and to this second and last Sheet thereof my

[Administration] was granted having first made a solemn & sincere declaration or affirmation according to (an) Act of Parliament duly to Administer Power reserved to Ann George Widow the Relict and other Exor. John George was buried at St. Paul, Canterbury, aged 80, on 29th November 1814.
John George married Anne Ruck on 6th March 1768 at St. Mary Bredin, Canterbury.
Their children (all christened at St. Paul):
7 Oct 1770 Edward (Bu: 6 Jul 1842 St. Nicholas, Thanington); 1 Aug 1773 John; 26 Oct 1774 Ann;
19 Jun 1776 Thomas Ruck (Bu: 28 Dec 1846, aged 70, at St. Paul); 19 Apr 1778 William (christened at St.
Mary, Chartham); 29 Oct 1780 Lydia.
Ann George, wife of John, was buried 11th April 1815, aged 73 at St. Paul. She had been living in Broad
Street, Canterbury at the time of her death.
John George, of this Will was born circa 1734 (from age at death), and is found at St. Dunstan, Canterbury: 25 Aug 1734, s. of Nicholas and Mary George. He had a sister Margaret christened there on 9th May 1736 – no more children found.
Nicholas George had married Mary Harlow on 29th October 1733, at St. Dunstan. Nicholas George came from Chartham and was christened there 4th May 1700, s. of Nicholas and Mary.
Ann George, our John’s daughter, married Thomas White Longley on 12th January 1797 at St. Paul.
His other daughter, Lydia George married George Burrell on 26th October 1815 at St. Paul.
