In the Name of God Amen the 26th day of June One thousand eight hundred and thirty eight
I Thomas William George of Sandgate in the Parish of Cheriton in the County of Kent being of sound and disposing mind and memory thanks be given unto God but calling into mind the mortality of my body knowing that it is appointed unto all men once to de do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament (that is to say)
Principally and first of all I do give and recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth not doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the Almighty Power of God to attain Eternal happiness through Jesus Christ Our Lord

And as touching my Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life
I do give and bequeath to Jane my dearly beloved Wife all my Real and Personal Property of what kind or nature soever All my household furniture china glass plate linen and books All my stock in trade together with my claims on the Hythe and Dover Burial Clubs and everything else that is mine to give

And I recommend Sarah my dear Mother should she survive me to the kind protection of my dearly beloved Wife not doubting as far as in her lies she will comfort her declining years

and this is my last Will and Testament

John Quested Baker, Sandgate - Thomas Collar Junr June 26th 1838

On the 7th of February 1855 Admon. [Administration] (with the Will annexed) of the goods chattels and credits of Thomas William George late of Sandgate in the Parish of Cheriton in the County of Kent deceased was granted to Thomas Wood the Administrator of the Goods of Jane George Widow deceased whilst living the Relict and the Universal Legatee named in the said Will having been first Sworn by Comon duly to administer - No Executor and the said Jane George Widow died without having taken upon herself the Letters of Admon. (with the said Will annexed) of the goods of the said deceased as by Acts of Court appeared.

Notes:
Thomas William George was buried on 5th September 1854 at St. Martin, Cheriton (near Folkestone), Kent.
He was a House Agent and Lodging House Keeper of Cheriton in 1851.
His Widow Jane George was also buried on 5th September 1854 at St. Martin, Cheriton.

Thomas William George was christened 9th March 1800, s. of Edward and Sarah George at St. Leonard, Deal.
He married Jane Wood 8th July 1822 at SS Mary & Eanswith, Folkestone. He was of Deal and she of Dover. They do not appear to have had any children.
Father Edward George married Sarah Horton on 2st January 1792 at St. Laurence in Thanet. They were Ba. & Sp., both otp. Mother Sarah George aged 80 of Sandgate was buried on 10th Jan. 1851 at St. Martin, Cheriton.
Parents Edward and Sarah George’s children (all christened at St. Leonard, Deal):
05-Nov 1797 Richard; 09-Mar 1800 Thomas William; 19-May 1802 Josiah Jessie Horton.
