This is the last Will and testament of me William Henry Samwell George of Kingsgate Castle in the Isle of Thanet and of the County of Kent Esquire

Firstly I desire that all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses be paid and satisfied by my Executor hereinafter named as soon as conveniently may be after my decease

And secondly I give devise and bequeath unto Emily Nissa George my Wife All my Real & Personal Estate & Effects and as to all the Rest Residue and Remainder of my Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever both Real and Personal whether in possession reversion remainder or expectation I give devise and bequeath the same unto the said Emily Nissa George her executors and administrators absolutely

And I nominate constitute and appoint the said Emily Nissa George to be Executor of this my Will And hereby revoking all former or other Wills by me at any time heretofore made I declare this to be my last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof I the said William Henry Samwell George the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand the thirteenth day of November in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and fifty

Proved at London the 19th February 1856 before the Worshipful John George Middleton Doctor of Laws and Surrogate by the Oath of Emily Nissa George Widow the Relict the sole Executrix to whom Admon. [Administration] was granted having first sworn duly to administer.

Notes:
William Henry Samwell George was christened on 18th December 1821, s. of William Henry and Mary George at North Petherton, Somerset (between Bridgend and Taunton).

William Henry Samwell George, ofa., Ba., Gentleman of Exmouth, devon, s. of William Henry George, Clerk in Holy Orders, married Emily Nisa Kirkpatrick, ofa, Sp. of Exmouth, d. of William Kirkpatrick, gentleman. Witnesses were W. Phillips, Augustus Falk.

William and Nissa had one daughter, Ada Mary George, who was christened 13th December 1847 at Littleham, Exmouth, Devon.
Emily Nissa George died on 1st January 1902 in Mountreux, Switzerland. Daughter Ada Mary George was the Executor/Administrator of Nissa’s Will.

The 1851 census of Kingsgate Castle, Thanet, Kent, indicates:
W.H.S. George, born 1791 was a Landed Proprietor, Fund Holder and JP, born North Petherton, SOM.;
Ann George, wife, was born 1791 in Isleworth, MDX.
Ada Mary George, daughter, aged 3, was born in Exmouth, DEV.
