Item I give unto the church of Shepheardswell towards the mending of the same if my body be buryed in the said church the summe of
Twenty shillings of Currant English money the same to be payed to the church wardens of Shepheardswell within one moneth after my death
and buryall
Item I give and bequeath to the poore inhabitants of Shepheardswell aforesaid the summe of twenty shillings of currant english money to
be distributed amongst the said poore people within one month also after my death and buryall by mine executor at his or her discretion
Item I give unto Sibbell Gibbon my mother towards her maintenance one Annuity or yearely summe of fower pounds per annum of
currant english money to be payed to my said mother quarterly by equall portions
Item I give unto Susan my daughter the sume of two hundred pounds of currant money of England to be payed to her my said
daughter when she shall come unto and accomplish the full age of twentie yeeres
Item I will and ordaine by this my last will and testament that if my sonne John Gibbon dye before he come unto the age of one and twenty yeeres and also before he hath any issue of his body lawfully begotten that then the Legacye and bequeast as well of lands as money which I have by this my last will and testament giveen and bequeathed unto him shall be given in manner and forme and to the partyes hereafter mentioned
That is to say if my sonne dye before he shall accomplish the age of one and twenty yeeres then I give unto George Gibbon the younger sonne of Susan Gibbon my wife by her first husband John Gibbon my kinsman all that my Marsh land before given to my sone John Gibbon conteyning by estimatacion sixteene acres more or lesse lying and being in the parish of Sholden aforesaid to have and to hold the said Marshland to him the said George after he shall attayne unto the age of one and twenty yeeres and not before and to his heyres lawfully by him begotten for ever
And also I give more unto the said George if my sonne dye before he attaine the said age of one and twenty yeeres the summe of one hundred pounds of currant money of England to be payed unto him the said George when he shall accomplish the age of one and twenty yeeres and not before
Also my will is if the said George my wifes sonne dye before he come unto the age of one and twenty yeeres that then Susan my daughter shall have the said Marshland conteyning by estimacion sixteene acres more or lesse to whom (if the said John my sonne and the said George my wifes sonne dye both before they come to the age aforesaid and both without lawfull issue) I then give it when she hath attayned unto and accomplished the full age of twentie yeeres and not before and to her heyres for ever
The rest of the portion of the said George which he is to have by the death of my sonne John and not els it being one hundred pounds (if the said George shall dye before he come unto the age of one and twenty yeeres) shall remaine in the hands of him or her whom I doe make Executor or Executrix of this my last will and Testament and to his or her use for ever
Also my will is that if my sonne John shall dye before he attaine to the age of one and twenty yeeres aforesaid that then Susan my daughter besydes her portion or portions before given by me shall have and receive as a farther gifte and legasye by me given unto her of my executor or executrix the remainder of the portion and legacye which I gave unto my sonne John which is not given unto George my wifes sonne That is to say three hundred pounds more when she shall accomplish the age of twenty yeeres
Item if my said daughter Susan dye before she come unto the age of twenty yeeres then my will is that John my sonne shall have one hundred pounds of the portion given to her besydes what I have before bequeathed and given unto him the other hundred pounds to remaine in the hands of my Executor or executrix whom I shall appoynt and to his or her use for ever
Item if my sonne John and George my wifes sonne and also Susan my daughter shall all three dye before they come to their full before mentioned at which these fore bequeathed legasyes are due and when they ought to be payed Then I give all the said lands and Legasyes whatsoever in as compleat and full manner as I gave them unto any of my former Legatees unto Susan my wife and to her assignes for ever
Also farther my will is that whosoever I doe make executor of this my last will and Testament shall wholly fulfill the last will and testament of Edward Gibbon late of Shepheardswell deceased uncle to me the said John Gibbon performing all things therein conteyned for the good of Edward Gibbon the younger Godson and heyre unto Edward Gibbon the elder deceased and eldest sonne unto Susan my wife and also for the good of George my wifes younger sonne together with all and every thing therein conteyned according to the true meaning of the said last will and testament of Edward Gibbon mine uncle deceased which last will and testament beareth date February the 20th Anno Domini 1618
Lastly my funerall being discharged legsyses payd and all this my will fulfilled and done All the rest of my goods cattells and chattells moveable and immoveable estate in lands whatsoever remainder of lease or leases gift or gifts for tyme or tymes as also all houshold stuffe ready coyne corne moneys due by bond bonds or bills or without or whatsoever of mine not given and bequeathed by this my last will I doe wholy give and bequeath unto Susan my wife whom I ordaine and make full and sole Executor and Executrix of this my last will and testament
In wittnes whereof I the said John Gibbon hereunto putt my hand and Seale the first day of October in the third yeere of the reigne of
our Soveragne Lord Charles by the grace of god of England Scotland France and Ireland King Defender of the fayth Annoque Domini 1627
