In the name of God Amen the nyneteenth day of January one thousand Six hundred Forty Eight
I Richard Gibbes of the p[ar]ish of Word alias Worth next Sandwich in the County of Kent, Yeoman being sicke in body but of A good and perfect memory, thankes I give Almighty God, doe make this my last Will and Testament in manner following
First I will and bequeath my Soule to Almighty God, my body to bee buried att the discretion of my Executor hereafter named

Item I will and bequeath to John Gibbes my eldest Sonne Five shillings
Item I will and bequeath to X'pher [Christopher] Gibbes my second sonne all that hee hath of myne in his occupation and the two younger mares and the two geldings only to Acquitt him of a legacy of twenty pounds given him by my Father Yeomanson
onely my mother gave my sonne Richard Five pounds which Christopher Gibbes my sonne is to pay him only I desire my sonne Richard to quitt my sonne Christopher of the foresaid Five poundes

Item I will and bequeath after my decease by my Executor five shillings
Item I will and bequeath to my Daughter Gardner Five shillings
And likewise to my Daughter Hunt Five shillings
Item I will and bequeath to my Daughter Fantinge five shillings
when they shall require the same of my Executor after my decease

Item I will and bequeath unto Jone Gibbes my wife the mortgage of lands which I have of my sonne Fantinge if it fall to my said wife and after her decease unto my said Executor at his disposeinge for ever

Item I will and bequeath to my daughter Anna and my daughter Bennet and either of them one chest of lynnen all ready put upp, and either of them A Silver Cupp and one young heifer

Item I doe appoynt Richard Gibbes my Executor desireinge (him) to see my debts and my legacyes performed
Item I will unto my said wife one feather bed furnished with some of the best househould stuffe, and all the rest to my Sonne Richard, his heires for ever
Item I give him all my Tenements in the p[ar]ish of Word with certaine lands to them belonginge to him and his heires for ever

Item I will and bequeath unto my daughter Anna Gibbes Two Hundred pounds of good and lawfull money of England
And likewise unto my Daughter Bennet Gibbes two Hundred pounds of good and lawfull money of England
which is to be paid unto them by my Executor the aforesaid Richard Gibbes, and this is to bee paid within halfe a yeare after my decease unto them, or else to paye the use unto them, and likewise unto the Executor the tenement at Godmersham I give unto him my Executor
