In the name of God Amen I Nicholas Gibbs of the Parish of Elmstone in the County of Kent, gent(leman); being of sound and perfect health and memorie (praise bee God therefore) doe make and ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner and Forme Following
First I bequeath my soule into the hands of Almighty God, who First gave it and my body to the earth, whereof it was First formed, to be decently buried att the discrecon of my Executrix hereafter named

Item I give and bequeath unto Nicholas Gibbs my eldest sonne the Messuage, Tenements & Orchard where I now dwell with two acres of Lands lying in Preston comonly called Barnes bush and alsoe one parcell of ground called new England lying in Preston aforesaid to have and To hold to Nicholas Gibbs, his heires and assignes foe ever under the Condicon hereafter expressed

Item I give and bequeath unto Richard Gibbs my sonne All that my Messuage or Tenement & five acres of Land lying in Ash (next Sandwich) in the County aforesaid, comonly (called) Whitefeild To have & to hold unto Richard Gibbs, his heires & assignes forever, under the Condicon hereafter expressed

Item I give and bequeath unto Mary Gibbs my daughter thirty poundes of lawfull monie of England To bee paid unto her within three yeares after such time as Richard Gibbs my sonne shall enter on ye Messuage and Land soe to my sonne Richard bequeathed, to bee paid by my sonne Richard Gibbs
And for non payment my will and meaneinge is that Mary my Daughter shall enter on the Lands soe before unto my sonne Richard Gibbs bequeathed and the same to detaine and keepe untill the said legacie withall arrearages thereof bee fully satisfied Contented and paid

Item I give unto my two grandchildren Robert Seath and Mary Seath to each of them tenne poundes a peece to bee paid by Nicholas Gibbs my sonne within three yeares after my said sonne Nicholas Gibbs shall enter one [on] the Messuage and land soe to him before bequeathed
And for non payment my will and meaneinge is that my two grandchildren or either of them shall enter on the Messuage and lands to my sonne Nicholas Gibbs before bequeathed, and the same to detaine and keepe untill his or her legacy bee fully contented, satisfied and paid
Provided that the said Robert and Mary shall first come to the age of one and twenty yeares

Item I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth my loveing Wife her dwelling in my house, wherein I now dwell, with free use of the Kitchin thereunto adjoyneing and halfe the proffitts that shall arise or growe on any (of) my Lands and Tenem[en]ts soe before unto my two sonnes Nicholas Gibbs and Richard Gibbs in this my will bequeathed

And I doe hereby Constitute & appointe my Loveing wife Elizabeth Gibbs Sole Executrix of this my Will and Testament utterly revokeing any other Will heretofore made by me the said Nicholas Gibbs

In wittnes whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and Seale to this last Sheete, with my hand to the former Sheete, dated the second day of March in the yeare of our Lord one thousand six hundred Fifty five

Sealed, published and declared to bee the last Will and Testament of Nicholas Gibbs in the prsence of us

This will was proved at London before ye Judges for Probate of Wills and graunting Administracons lawfully authorized the twenty fourth day of December in the yeare of our Lord God One thousand Six hundred Fifty and nine by the oath of Elizabeth Gibbs the Relict of the said deceased and sole Executrix named in the said Will To whome Administracon of all and Singuler ye Goods ch'ells and debts of ye said deceased was graunted and Comitted She being First Sworne truely to Administer the same according to the tenor and effect of the said Will.
