In the name of God Amen the Seventh day of September in the Eight yeare of the Raigne of our Soveraigne Lord William the third by the grace of God of England, Scotland, France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith etc Annoque Domini 1696
I John Gibbon of the parish of Sheperdswell also Sibertswold in the county of Kent yeoman being Sick and weake in body but of sound and perfect minde and memory praysed be God for it, Doe make and ordeyne this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following (that is to say)
First and principally I yeild my Soule into the hands of Almighty God my Creator, with full assurance and Stedfast hope in my Redeemer Christ Jesus to live with him Eternally after this my mortal life Shall bee Ended, And my body I committ to the Earth whereof it was first framed to bee decently Interred at the discretion of my Executors herein after named,

And of this my last Will and Testament I doe hereby make and ordeyne my Deare and Loveing Wife Anne Gibbon and my sonne Bonham Gibbon Joynt Executors,

And I doe hereby order direct and appoynt, That my Said Executors shall soe soone as they can after my desease sell and dipose of All my Messuages, Maulthouse, Barnes, Stables podderhouses, Outhouses Gardens and lands with all and Singuler their Appurtenences Scituate lying and being in the parish of Shepherdswell aforesaid and in the parish of Wootton in the said County of Kent, And also All and Singuler my Goods Cattle Chattells, household stuffe Stocke moveables and personal Estate whatsoever to the best Advantage And for the most money they can gett for the Same, And upon Sale thereof Shall in the first place pay all my proper debts which I shall owe att the time of my desease,

And all the Surplusage and residue of the moneys that Shall bee raised by the Sale of my Said Messuages Lands Tenements goods and Chattells after my Said debts Shall bee discharged I give and bequeath in maner and forme following (that is to Say)
First I doe give and bequeath unto my Sonne William Gibbon the Sume of five Shillings of lawfull money of England to bee paid unto him my Said Sonne William by my said Executors within three Monthes next after my desease,
Alsoe I doe give and bequeath unto my Sonne Bonham Gibbon one of my Executors the sume of Two hundred pounds of good and lawfull money of England to bee allowed and paid to him my Said Sonne Bonham within one Month mext after Receipt of the purchase money for my Said Messauges lands Tenements goods and Chattells appoytned to bee sold as aforesaid,
Alsoe I doe give and bequeath unto my daughter Anne Gibbon the sume of One hundred pounds of like lawfull money of England to bee paid unto her my Said Daughter by my said Executors att the Age of One and twenty yeares or day of Marriage which shall first happen

Also I doe give and bequeath unto my Grandsonne John Pye the Sonne of my daughter Elizabeth Pye the summe of fifty pounds of like lawfull money of England to bee paid to him the said John Pye within three Monthes next after the desease of Anne my now Wife,
provided alwayes and my Will and Mind is that the Surplusage and Residue of the Said moneys which shall bee raised by Sale of my Said Messuages Lands Tenements Goods and Chattells after payment of my debts and the Legacyes hereby given to my Said sonne Bonham Gibbon And my Said daughter Anne Gibbon as aforesaid, That fifty pounds thereof Shall bee put out at Interest upon good Security, And that my Said loveing wife Anne Gibbon shall receive and Enjoy the Interest thereof for and towards her more better maintenance and livelihood during her natural life and after her death the Said principal summe of fifty pounds soe to bee put out att Interest as aforesaid well and truely to bee paid unto my Said Grandsonne John Pye for his Legacy herein before by me bequeathed and to bee paid after the death of my Said wife

And that all the residue and remainder of the said moneys soe raised as aforesaid my debts and legacyes being paid as aforesaid I doe wholely give and bequeath the Same unto my Said loveing wife Anne Gibbon to doe and dispose of as Shee Shall thincke fitt for her livelihood and maintenance, not doubting but Shee will dispose of the same amongst my Children att her death as they Shall deserve her motherly kindness

And lastly my further will and meaneing is that my said wife Anne out of what I have herein hefore bequeathed unto her Shall maintaine and bring up my said daughter Anne Gibbon untill her Legacy of One hundred pounds Shall become due and payable unto her by this my last will and Testament in the meanetime my Said Wife receiveing and Enjoying the Interest and profitt thereof from time to time for the doeing thereof

And I doe hereby revoke disannul and make voyd All and Every former and other will and wills by me att any time heretofore made ratifing and Confirming this and noe other to bee my last will and Testament
