In the Name of God Amen I John Gisling of Sevenoaks in the County of Kent Butcher calling to mind the uncertainty of this transitory Life and that it is appointed for all Persons once to die and the uncertainty of the time when the same shall happen and being of sound mind memory and understanding praised be Almighty God for the same Do therefore make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following this is to say First and Principally I resign my Soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my Body I commit to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executor hereinafter named And as to the temporal Estate which it hath pleased Almighty God to bless me with I give devise and dispose thereof as followeth

First I will order and direct that all my just Debts Legacies and Funeral Expences shall be first paid and discharged
Also I give and devise unto my Kinsman William Gisling of the said Parish of Sevenoaks Butcher All my Messuage or Tenement Land Hereditaments and Premises wherein I now dwell To hold unto him and his Assigns during his life he keeping the same in good repair
and from and immediately after his decease I give and devise the said Messuage or Tenement Land Hereditaments and Premises unto my Nephew Richard Harvey also of Sevenoaks aforesaid Glasier To hold to him his Heirs and Assigns for ever

Also I give to the said Richard Harvey the Sum of two hundred Pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain and to his two Children the sum of twenty Pounds

Also I give to my Nephew Edward Gisling the Sum of One hundred and twenty Pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain
Also I give to my Nephew William Covell the Sum of One hundred Pounds
and to his Brother Thomas Covell Fifty Pounds of like Money
Also I give to my Godson John Carnell the Sum of Five Pounds and five Shillings
And to Robert Holmes Son of James Holmes of Tonbridge in the said County I give the Sum of twenty one Pounds of like Money
Also I give to my former Maid Servant Elizabeth Waters the Sum of twenty one Pounds of like Money

Also I give to my Maid Servant Elizabeth Becket the Sum of One hundred Pounds of like Money
And I give to her my Yellow Bed Bed.... Blanketts and Furniture situate and being in my Chamber over the Brewhouse
and I give to her also my new Chest of Drawers standing in the same Room
Also I give to the said Elizabeth Becket the Silver Tea Spoons Tongs and Tea Equipage

Also I give to the said Robert Holmes one of my large Silver Spoons
And I will that all the said Legacies be paid and delivered to the said Legatees respectively as soon as can be after my decease Also after my just Debts Legacies and Funeral Expences with the Probate of this my Will are paid and discharged

All the rest residue and remainder of my Estate that is to say All my Bills Bonds Mortgages ready Money Debts owing me and all other my Personal Estate which is not hereinbefore disposed of that I shall die Possessed of or Interested in I give and bequeath unto my Kinsman William Gisling of Sevenoaks aforesaid Butcher whom I nominate constitute and appoint full and sole Executor or this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all former Wills and Bequests by me at any time heretofore made

In Witness whereof I the said John Gisling the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and Seal this fouth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy four John Gisling
