In the name of God Amen the ninth of Februarie in the yeere of or Lord Christ 1623
I John Glover of the p[ar]ish of Goondestone in the Countie of Kent Yeoman being of sound and p[er]fect remembrance (praised be God) doe make this my last will & testament in mannr & forme followeing
First I bequeath my soule into the hands of God that gave it me & my bodie to be buried in the Churchyard of Goodnestone aforesaid a little below the diall

Item I give to Elizabeth Glover my wellbeloved wife all my houshold stuffe whatsoevr during her naturall life
& after her decease to be equallie devided betweene my two dawghters Marie & Dorethe Glover
Provided that if my said wife shall see cause so to doe that then at her discrecon she shall bestowe some p[ar]t of the said houshold stuffe upon my two daughters Thomsin Swift & Elizabeth Mesden & the remainder thereof my will is shalbe equallie devided betweene Marie and Dorithie by Joseph Heniker & my sonn Richard Glovr

Item I give to my said wife fortie shillings in monie to be paid her by my executor pr[e]sentlie after my decease
Item I give unto her two seames of Wheate & twelve bushells of Barlie wth my Cow & three licorad? & the topps of my trees groweing on my land betweene John Goulsmiths his Land and mine
I give to my fower daughters Tomsin Smith, Elizabeth Mesden, Marie & Dorithe Glover tenn pound a peece to be paid them by my executor wthin foure yeeres after my decease

Item I give to William Mesden my grandchild three pounds to be paid by my executor when he shall accomplish the age of one & twentie yeeres
Item I give unto Elizabeth Dann my grandchild thirtie shillings to be paid by my executor at her age of one & twentie yeeres

All the residue of my goods whatsoevr my debts & legacies with the Charge of my buriall being discharged I give to my sonn Richard Glover whom I doe make sole executor of this my last will & testament
I make my well beloved brother Richard Glover of Westwell ovrseer of this my last will & testament & doe give him as a token of my love tenn shillings to be paid by my executor wthin one month after my decease

This is the last will & testament of me John Glover Concerneing the disposicon of all my lands & tenem[en]ts whatsoevr

I give to my aforenamed wife Elizabeth Glover my house I now dwell in with the barne & outhouses thereto belonging wth the closes thereto adjoynenig wth the close in Bonnington feild wth the Cropp now uppon it dureing her naturall life & after her decease the same to come & remaine to my sonn Richard dureing his naturall life
And after his decease the said house wherein I now dwell with the barne & all the land thereunto belonging to come & remaine to my grandchild John Glover the sonn of Richard Glover
All the residue of my houses & lands whatsoevr I have in the pish of Goodnestone or wthin the Realme of England I give to my said sonn Richard Glover

John Glover was buried 12 Feb 1623/24 at Holy Cross, Goodnestone (next Wingham).
John Glover married Elizabeth Perrett 16 Oct 1580 at St. Mary, Nonington, Kent.
Known children of this marriage (all baptised at Holy Cross, Goodnestone-next-Wingham):
24 Nov 1583 Tomsin; 24 Mar 1587/88 Marie; 1 Mar 1589/90 Richard; 5 Mar 1591/92 William; 3 Mar 1593/94 Anne; 9 Nov 1595 John; 23 Jan 1596/97 Dorothye; 12 Aug 1599 Margaret.
Daughter Tomsen Glover married William Swift 23 Nov 1612 at St. Mary, Wingham, Kent.
Henry Maxday, Husbandman and Elizabeth Glover, virgin, both of Wingham, were married at Elmstone, by Licence on 23 Jul 1611.
