Imprim[i]s I do give and bequeath unto my Son Thomas Godden, Cooper and his Heirs and Assigns for ever all that my Messuage
or Tenement with the Barne, Outhouses, Edifices, Buildings, Orchards, Gardens, Closes, Yards and Backsides thereunto belonging with
all and singular their appurt[enance]s situate, lying and being in the town of Folkstone aforesaid and now in the severall
Occupations of me the said Stephen Godden and Willm Goose
And also all that my piece or parcell of arable Land with the Appurten[a]nces thereuto belonging containing in the whole by
Estimation one acre and three Ro[o]des of lands more or less with the appurtenances, lying and being in Folkstone aforesaid in a
certain field there called Cliffe Field and in that part thereof wh[i]ch is called Black Webbs and now in the Occupation of
John Hills or his Assignes
Provided always nevertheless and upon this express Condition that he the said Thomas Godden his Heirs or Assignes do or shall well
and truly pay or cause to be paid
unto my daughter in Law Mary Godden, widow of my Son Daniel Godden the Sum of fifteen pounds of lawfull money of England
within one Year next after my decease
and to my daughter in Law Frances Godden Widow of my Son Isaac Godden the like Sum of Fifteen pounds of like
money within One Year next after my decease
And to my three Grandchildren Sarah Hambrook, Elizabeth Hambrook and Anne Hambrook, daughters of my Son in Law Jeremiah Hambrook by
his late wife my late daughter deceased the Sum of Five pounds apiece of like money to be paid also within One Year next after
my decease
and to My Granddaughter Elizabeth Godden now living with me the like Sum of Five pounds of like money within One Yeare next
after my decease
And to Mary Godden widow of my Son William the Sum of Fifty shillings of like money
and to Mary Godden Widow of my late Grandson Stephen Godden the like Sum of Fifty shillings
And also to Edward Warry of Dover the Sum of Five pounds of lawfull English money for the use of poor Friends called Quakers
and to be distribted amongst them and at and by the discretion of the said Edward Warry
all which said Legacies I appoint to be paid within One Year next after my decease
And it is my Will and desire that the said Lands and Tenements given to my said Son Thomas Godden and his Heirs shall be subject and lyable to the payment of all the aforesaid Legacies
Item I do give and bequeath unto my Son James Godden and to his Heirs and Assignes for ever all that my Messuage or Tenement with the Outhouses, Edifices, buildings, Yards, backsides and Appurten[an]ces thereunto belonging situate lying and being in Folkstone afores[ai]d and now in the Occupation of the aforenamed John Hills or his Assignes
Provided always and upon this express Condition that the said James Godden his Heirs or Assignes
do and shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid
unto my Son Stephen Gooden his Executors or Assignes the Sum of Twenty pounds of lawfull money of England in manner and
Form as followeth (That is to say) Five pounds yearly for and during the terme of Four Years next after my decease, the First
payment thereof to begin and to be made at the end of one year next after my decease
And also do and shall pay or cause to be paid unto my Grandson Richard Hambrook the Sum of Five pounds of lawfull money of
England within one Year next after my decease
And therefore it is my Will and desire that the said Messuage or Tenement and pr[e]mise with the Appurtences given to my said Son James and his Heirs shall be subject and lyabel to the payment of the said two severall last mentioned sums of Twenty pounds and five pounds
Item I do give unto my Grandchild Elizabeth Godden aforenamed who now liveth with me (over and above the before mentioned Sum of Five pounds I have appointed to be paid unto her) my flock bed with all the furniture thereto belonging which she now layes on and also one pillow more and two pairs of Sheets, two Pillow Coats, two tables Cloths, three Napkins, one littl[e] table with a draw[er] to it, one kneading trough, one hanging Cupboard, two low leathern Chairs, two rush Chairs and two pewter dishes
Item I do give and bequeath unto my said Son Thomas Godden and to his Executors, Ad[mini]strators and Assignes all and singular the rest, residue and remainder of my goods, Ch[att]ells and Estate whatsoever and wheresoever, he paying my Debts and Funerall Charges and Charges of Probate of this my last Will and Testament
and I do hereby make and ordain him the said Thomas Godden full and sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament
And I do also hereby revoke and make void all former Wills and Testaments and bequests by me at any time heretofore made or declared
and do declare this and no other to be my last Will and Testament and even? conclude? this my last Will and Testam[en]t

Notes:
Stephen Godden senior (spelt Godding in the register) was in 1709 buried in the Quaker burial ground in Folkestone.
Some of his children's births in the 1660s and 70s are recorded in the Folkestone Society of Friends' birth register.
