I wish to be buried in the church or churchyard of Elham.
To the high alter 4 shillings and 4 pence to each of the poor body who attend
my funeral a penny, and to every poor child a half penny at my months mind..
Item: to Joan my wife my bed that I lay upon with all said ornaments that
belong to it for her natural life and then to my son William. She also to have 4
kine of her choosing, 20 wedders, 20 ewes and 20 lambs of her choosing.
I will that William my son shall at his own charges pasture the said 20 wedders both
winter and summer and the said ewes from St George until St Andrew all the time of my wife�s widowhood.
Item: to my wife all my poultry and half my hogges great and small, I will my wife shall have competable fowell all the time of her natural life. I will that she shall sow one ...... od hempseed in the hemp spot in the meadow all the time aforesaid furthermore I bequeath to her a also my best horse save one.
Item: I bequeath her all my brass pewter and latten being not with including a great brass pot and all my linen. During her natural life 6 silver spoons and after her decease I will them to William my son.
Item: During her life 3 acres of wheat, 3 acres of barley and 2 acres of oats and
my son William shall plough and sow them. He is also to store them in the barn.
When William shall draw pigeons out of my pigeon house, my wife Johan to
have a third. But if my wife should marry again then my legacy to her will be
voided and the legacy to go to the children of William my son and Isabel and Cecily my daughter.

Item: to Isabel after the death of my wife one bed with all belonging to it, sheets
coverlets, blankets and hangings the which lay in the chamber on the fourth side of the hall which is the nether chamber.
Item: I bequeath to Denise Iden, William Gylbardes daughter 50 shillings.
Item To John and Henry Gylbarde my daughter Isabel�s sons 20 shillings at 20, to
the other children of Isabel that she has have here after 6 shillings and 8 pence.
Item: to Cecily my daughter after the death of my wife one bed in the loft on the southside of my house with all the things belonging to it, a brass pot, and after her death it is to go to Joanne Saunder her daughter and the brass pot to Mary Saunder.
Item: to John Collynges and William Collinges will send a general attainment with William my son then I will either of them
20 shillings.
Item: to each of the children of William my son, that he has or shall have hereafter 6 shillings and 8 pence.
Item: to William Esson the 6 shillings and 8 pence he doth owe me.
Item to Johane my wife the first year after my decease 5 seems of wheat, 5 seams of malt and 2 seams of oats.
Item: I will that Johane my wife shall fynde John Wellmere alias Chesse meal
and drink and clothing during her natural life and she shall pay him a further 20 shillings.
Item: the rest of my goods to William my son he to be my executor.
Item: to Johane my wife the lands William my son and I bought of Thomas Symme where Wiliam now dwelleth but
if William will not suffer her to live there she shall have my tenement where I now dwell.
I also give her the lands I bought off Thomas Stroude the younger.
I give her a piece of land called Street End and North Crofte During her widowhood and after her death to my son William.
